I was playing on another server the other night when I was immediately accosted by another player who called me a derogatory name. I asked what his problem was and why he used such mean language, and he ultimately confessed that he was doing it just because I had an eG tag and and he knew that it would get my attention enough to warrant a response (I suspect that this guy was banned from eGO for foul language and racism). He continued to barrage me with foul-mouthed slurs (to the point that others playing the game told him to back off), but of course he never did. I got off the server.

The reason for this post is simple. Thanks need to go to all the eGO membership for standing by the belief that being civil while gaming is a worthwhile endeavor. It is so refreshing to play on our servers without having to listen to the unbelievable filth that occurs on other servers. I am not a prude and sometimes use inappropriate language, but not on gaming servers...ever. I will continue to work hard to keep our servers free of mean-spirited and bigoted players and I know all the admins will too. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who got Edgegamers off to the proper start and to all who continue to make Edgegamers simply the best server for DoD:S, at least. FMR

It's always nice to be reminded of what we have here.

Thank you.

I play on other BC2 servers and I'm grateful I don't have to deal with the issues they have on there.

Including, but not limited to: team vehicle griefers. Chat spammers. AFK folks.

It's nice that we don't get pushed over the edge and explode in anger at them. Good job on staying calm, I would've lost my cool a little bit. Haha. :)

This is a good time to remind EdgeGamers, that when you are playing on a non-EdgeGamers server you are a guest. You follow their rules and you follow our rules. You do not attempt to admin and you do not recruit.

You demonstrate the ideals of EdgeGamers by your sterling example. FMR's forbearance is expected of all of us.

Well done FMR.

For clarification purposes...

If we playing on a non ego server, and not wearing our ego tags, are we allowed to break ego rules as long as we don't break the servers rules? I play on some servers that allow swearing as long as it isnt derogatory towards another player. Is this okay?

Actually no. See the link to Artimus's post in the Information Center sub forum titled Clarification of eGO Policy.

As a member of eGO, you are responsible for your actions in the entire online gaming world, whether or not you are wearing an EdgeGamers tag. This means that you could be removed from EdgeGamers for bad conduct on servers or forums outside of eGO.

Well done FMR the experience would have upset most members, thats why I joined ego. We have a laugh ingame but we stay civil to every one.
