Just got this for college and beyond.

You don't think those dimensions/weight are a bit much for a college laptop?

Otherwise, looks like a nice laptop. The (RAID 0?) Momentus XT hybrid drives are certainly interesting.
 
I know nothing about computer specs but that sure does sound awesome!
 
^^ good luck with asus, the G73 series is known for quite a lot of problems regarding graphics and more :o

What do you recommend raxious?

Also im going to a school that is in session for 5 days a week for about 4-5 hours a day. Switching classes is just a matter of down the hall lol.
 
You're going to regret buying this laptop. Lugging 8 pounds around everyday?

Smaller screen to a point = better imo

I have a 14" envy 14 that I play BC2 on and i much prefer it to a larger one, plus its only 5 pounds and lasts 4-5 hours on a charge.

Its up to you though, I can see using a bigger laptop if you don't also have a desktop.

I'm with you on that Darkkon. If anything, think of it as tricking yourself into working out. I remember I carried between 20-30 lbs of books daily one semester because of all the books I needed. By the end of the semester, I didn't notice the weight at all (though next semester, having only a couple small books to carry, I felt too light).
 
Honestly since it's for school, I would go with a laptop that has an excellent form factor. That would probably be a Macbook Pro. The battery life is pretty good, as well.

I would make a Windows machine suggestion, but I can't really think of any good laptops that have comparable form factors and battery life.
 
I have an Asus gaming computer. Havent had many problems with it but when you do have a problem, good luck in fixing it. The tech support is offshore somewhere in India. Took me 2 hrs on hold to get a real person, and my problem was that i couldnt even get on my computer and was having blue screens everytime i start up. So i had to get help from ATT and theyy eventually fixed it. My computer is 17.3 inches too, i carry it around all the time and it is not as bad as people think, its just people get their mind set on laptops having to be small. Now mine wasnt 1500 $$$ but mine was 1000 $$$ and got it on sale for 600. I love my computer and I wish you luck with yours i just hope you never have any problems :).
