  • TF2 is now Free To Play
  • Added the Uber Update: http://www.teamfortress.com/uberupdate/
  • Added PL_Barnblitz, a new Payload map
  • Added all kinds of new goodies!
  • The Main menu now has a "Start Playing" option which presents users with various game modes to choose from. Once selected, the game matches the player into the best available server for that mode.
  • The Crafting interface has been redesigned to accommodate the fact that crafting blueprints are always known to players now.
  • The Item selection screen in Loadouts has been redesigned to support selection among a larger number of items.
  • Training improvements:
    • New training user interface
    • Added "A,W,S,D" movement instruction to Soldier training
    • Added ammo instruction to Engineer training
    • Clarified many instructional strings
  • Added new voting sounds
  • Fixed various Coaching bugs
  • Fixed various gameplay bugs

no one makes u buy the hats? also they do nothing and they offer no advantage to anyone....just looks

seriouly ur telling me right now if u had a service and was like "hey lets add a meaningless thing to it that does nothing and doenst effect the non payers at all but its just cool" u realease it and make millions ur telling me ur not gonna continue u?

if idiots and people with money to waste want to buy meaningless things in tf2 who cares? its like people that own a lamborgini, u dont need a car that fast..u can't even leaglly drive it at like 10% of what its capable of but rich people still buy them
 
I got to admit that hats ruined a bit TF2 since people are all going crazy about them but still it's a great game. Probably one of the most balanced FPS out there (not one where I yell camper every singe second *insert PS3 MW2 reference here*). Now, I can even play with my friends. So guess what, I'm kinda happy they released it for free. And who cares if you paid 20 bucks and only received a dumb hat. For all the effort Valve putted into the game, it's more than what you paid...

No need to get upset, that is how I feel. I preordered TF2, I played it for 2 years, up to when the changed to the 'drops' and the hats. After that, I lost all interest due to the way achievements were handed out. I still love TF2, don't get me wrong. TF2 just isn't the game it used to be, and I think that is what happened to a lot of the older players with this game. They got over it.


PS: They should give those that paid for the game a 'credit' for their silly store.

Just saying.
 
Lol its's awesome, the bad thing is my steam account is VAC banned for cheating infractions, lol.
 
I don't like this change at all either.

First, while yes I feel that I have gotten my moneys worth with almost 1400 hours played for me, it doesn't seem right to me that now someone can do the same, but without having to pay for it. The repeat griefers will be an issue, because there is nothing VALVe can do to stop them, there is nothing stopping a griefer from creating a new email account, then a new steam account, and getting TF2 again for free. The premium store, however, is not an issue, because if you don't want to use it, you don't have to. There are no game changing things that happen from buying or not buying from the store, just ignore it if you don't want to buy anything.

All I can say is that VALVe has made so many changes to the game that I used to love that its not even fun anymore.
