Tribes was the first game to ever feature fast paced first person shooting with jetpacks in a multiplayer setting.
It had games modes such as Capture the Flag, Team Deathmatch, Rabbit, Deathmatch[Free for All], Capture and Hold, etc.

The game set the FPS genre up for future titles like Halo[based off of Tribes!], Call of Duty, Counter-Strike! and more.

The game was very fun to play.
It was made over 10 years ago.
Many game developers agree that the game was YEARS ahead of its time.

Now the game is being recreated in a new title for PC called Tribes: Ascend

I really hope eGO adds this game to their list of FPS:X games!
This game will be a day one purchase for me.
It is where Stealthkid was born.

Haha looks like Halo, so this game is free?

lol, just go read the top rated comments on the gameplay video. Those should give a little hint as to the order of things. I'll get back on topic, though.

I will certainly look into this when it comes out, though I can't make any guarantee that it will be in our list of games.

By the looks of it, you noticed the previous thread by TomSound and I about this game. I started online PC gaming with Tribes 2.

+1 on the comments! LOL

I loved Tribes, I mean who doesn't want to jet around and shoot people at the same time? I'll be keeping my eye on this one.

Counter strike beta 6 was released 1999 and tribes was release late 98 so I'd have to go with there may have been some insight into CS from Tribes but I say anymore then maybe a glimpse.

For the record I played CS in beta 6 and tribes when it first came out.
