Birth of Heavy Metal?

Is this the start of Heavy Metal? Made by a Band Called Blue Cheer and I'm pretty sure no one at the time heard this kind of rough, powerful, and loud rock song quite like this.

The generally accepting beginning of Heavy Metal was this track:

That Blue Cheer track was a cover of a blues standard originally written in the late 50s. Though it could be considered a predecessor, it was still just a blues song performed much like some songs the British blues band Cream [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1pzXJuvdAY"]Cream[/ame] was doing at the time. So I would say that songs like that Blue Cheer recording helped lead to Heavy Metal, it is pretty much agreed that Black Sabbath wrote the first true heavy metal song.

Summertime Blues has been turned into pretty much every variation of rock ever, the Beach Boys even had a cover of it

And Led Zeppelin actually started in 1968 too (a year before Black Sabbath according to Wikipedia), they're a heavy metal band; nothing like today's "metal" music though... I suppose that's where the "heavy" comes in. Kind of like there's no rolling in rock and roll anymore :v
