why does pepole buy amd proccessors ?

well im just curious everytime i c a new build posted in here its always amd processors there,s in it. can anyone explain 2 me why that is. ? or is everyone just buying amd because everyone is buying the LOL

AMD has been known for a while now for being able to make and sell processors that make just about as much power as their relative Intel processor, but at a much lower operating frequency.

EDIT: Also I believe AMD has just gotten their name out better towards gamers than Intel has. It seems Intel focuses towards being a family man type of a processor that is very user friendly (Not that a processor can or can't be user friendly) whereas AMD seems to make themselves look more like a more advanced-user friendly processor.

Intel - Workstation CPUS, and multimedia. Powerful, known, expensive

AMD - Gaming CPU, Cheaper, Custom rigs usually

AMD is like Intel but wih half the price and originally AMD made Intel CPUs way back when. Also amd is usually 1 or 2 mb l2 cache where as Intel is 4, 6, 8 16 mb l2 cache
