Off Roaders and 4runners

Hiya
Any off roaders here?

I wanna get a 3rd generation 4runner just for having fun. Put dozen of fog lights, get it higher, install monster tires and possibly make it look like a baja racer and drive across africa or something. Any feedback for this vehicle is appreciated.

well if your planning on doing something like this you have to ask yourself, do you want to drive through mud really slow or do you want to fly over sand dunes. Baja trucks are light and made for flying around the sand. Lifted trucks are usually heavy and made for plowing through mud or crawling over rocks. If you are looking for something to drive across Africa with, I would swap the engine with a Cummins 4BT, 2-4inch suspension lift, 33-35inch all terrain tires, a winch, air compressor, and probably a extra fuel tank. You will also want new axles, and a few other things. Personally I would go with a truck but thats just me.
