Road Bikes

Just your luck I work in a bikeshop xD

The orange looks like a slightly lower spec than the blue. Quill stem gives it away. The angles as well look like that of a classic road racer (have a look at older tour de France bikes) so its going to be FAST!

You need to think though what kind of bike you need for road use. Are you aiming to gain stamina or miles with it? Something that makes it easier to get A-B too? A racing bike? There are many different bikes available, each with its own purpose.

Take point: http://www.wilier.it/it/catalogo/road-bike/izoard-xp/ this is a long distance road bike, designed to take the miles in and be comfortable at the same time.
While this: http://www.cubebikeshop.co.uk/epage...oton 2011"/SubProducts/"Cube Peloton 2011-50" is a full bred racing bike. Its a long wheel base, agile and stiff enough to sprint, but quite uncomfortable for long distance. (even though it states for relaxed riding, this is not the case with Cube bikes geometry, its just the spec that makes it suitable for its description).

Do take note that the freewheel you will put on will limit you to 6 gears (max 7 as 8 and upwards use a freehub meaning a new hub/wheel is needed), which only a basic range of gearing (rear mechs, chains, shifters etc) use today. If you can afford to spend enough money to buy one with a carbon front fork, it will improve your ride quality dramatically (absorbs road buzz unlike metal) and cut a lot of weight.

One last issue is the TRIPLE butted forks, even though they are made of steel (cromoly), they will flex due to how thin the fork walls will be.

For the price, its all good, but you get what you pay for in the end.
