So as i was searching the interwebz for stuff i came upon this device: VisionTek Bigfoot Killer 2100 Gaming Network Card

i was wondering if anyone was familiar with this and if so does it work?

I remember seeing a similar thread talking about the Killer NIC...
... I just don't know where it is.

Pretty much only worth it if you have a single or dual core CPU.
If you have a CPU greater than dual, you will probably not notice a
difference unless you download/upload while gaming.

I've never personally used the device, but it's mostly ideal to have it if you have an older model CPU (dual-core/single-core) but a faster internet connection (20mbit down, 5mbit up or faster).

Honestly, though, you should be fine on your standard integrated NIC so long as it supports atleast 10/100 mbit. The Killer will be most effective to have when everything switches over to gigabit in the coming years...

But then again, there's bound to be even better NICs available and we could quite possibly have 32-core CPUs running at 10GHz on standard air cooling by the time everything switches to gigabit.
