So, Bear annouced earlier that we are gonna bring back the zombie server. I thought he was trolling us. Apparently, he didnt :P.

what do you guys think of bringing back the eGO zombie server?



I think I will start playing on this server alot, but I dont really know how to play on zombie mode. Guess I will have to learn :)

The server wont be fully ready until tomorrow. We will not be monitoring it for uptime or responding to any help requests. We are simply getting a feel for how stable it is.

It may crash frequently. Be forewarned!

My question, if its zombie mod. WHy did it only have Zombie escape maps from what I saw on a vote.
 
now is this going to be more like the old zombie mod server? before the change

i didnt like it when the change happened and the zombies had classes, none of weapons did any knockback, no reload, and it sort of just all around started failing

hopefully its the classic that i remember from my early days in eGO
 
I Find Your Lack Of ZM Maps On A ZombieMod Server Disturbing

either change the name of the server to ZombieEscape or add some ZM for gods sake

I agree with They Call Me C, you should switch the name to Zombie Escape. EDIT (Wtf was I writing)
They should keep it Zombie Escape only though because it will be more successful. I put a long drop box highlighting why ZE will be successful but basically:

1) Dedicated Admins (Pubs looking for grief free servers)
2) Most of our members support or greatly prefer Zombie Escpae

I took it upon myself to conduct a small poll of eGO members to determine eGO preferences concerning zombie mod. I asked more than 100 people what they enjoy about zombie mod and approximately 40 responded. Results:

Prefer ZM Only: 3 Members
Soul of a Sinner, Mugen, Jayflip

Prefer ZE Only: 24 Members
PureBlood, NinjaWuuzoku, Resilient, Reflex, Pickles, Waffles of Doom, Sekira, FooFoo, Kpo13, Storm 7117, BatteryTime, GenoKnight, Darklethal, Orange Juice, Focus, ImDead, Quarantine, RedSerphent, Dan JK, Transparent, Allan, Rawsword, Wasbored, and Jackie

No preference, would support ZE only server: 11 Members
Zacharias, Coleslaw, Grizzam, xShadow, ImDead, Dark Force, IDigitalDeadI, Paradox2554, lpkassm, Smiley, and They Call Me C

Do Not Like Zombie: 7 Members

We can see clearly that the move to a ZM style server was not well supported by the eGO community. This is one of the reasons why a total conversion to a ZE server will succeed, just from our members participation alone. A server which runs both ZE/ZM will alienate at least some members from each group, and in our case running ZM maps turned away many eGO members . When the ZM maps would appear members would often leave.

Conclusion: eGO is mainly composed of Zombie Escape players, we should cater to this group.
