I like colmar a lot to, the only "problem" is that currently a lot off people are playing colmar and kalt for the ticket and the achievement, wich is good in a way cause it gets the servers populated but on the other hand after a team wins around a lot off people quit the server again. so i wonder how both kalt and the colmar server will do after this ticket and achievement mania is over.
Anyway i hope it stays or gets a rotation whit kalt.

Oh. Funny. I remember when we had Colmar a while back and it was just so full all the time.

I loved Flash too, but I understand why they got rid of it. It never had people on it, but to put Colmar back in its place is sort of silly. Yeah sure, its full right now, but so is Kalt which is another server with a history of poor numbers. Once people get the achievement Colmar will just go back to being empty. I hope this is just a temporary thing while leadership comes up with a better solution for the use of the server.

Well i hate it and will never play colmar on that server. That server belongs to flash and flash only. I hope that map never becomes full. I hope it dies again because if that server is to truly die i would rather have flash on it. Sure a lot of you would say "Oh it was never full and this is a nice choice". Well the reason it died is simple.
1) Flash crew left for other games
2) Kirk left which always brought people. With him gone the spark went out and so did the people never really came back.
3) No - hardly community backing. The reason i say this is certain people out spoke against flash saying "Oh flash is a bad map" or "Don't go to flash its not worth your time". This caused a wave of people who have not even played flash not wanting to go. Some of you may say "How do you know this?" Well funny thing when i went on filling the flash map for a week and getting it at least half full i would be on vent saying "Hey want to help fill flash" In return i got "Oh no thanks i have never played flash because i heard it was a sucky map.
So who is the true criminal? Cpt. Kirk? People in eGO? Maybe both?
Also yes i am be acting like one of the kalt players saying "We want our map back!" but i am not going to post on every thread saying this.
I'll give you a little history about the flash server and why i will miss it and i'll leave DoD:s if it does not come back.(No i'll still be in eGO just not in teh DoD:s Division) This does not mean "Oh we will change it just because he is going to leave which will never happen because its me asking for it."
Flash was the one and only map i really enjoyed in DoD:s. I met a lot of people there when i played. I met Capt. Goomba, Cowboys, Tony Montana, Cpt. Kirk, jimmy kudos brother, Seamper fi, ChoclateVillain, Joeboo, erich, General Specific, Cpt. Ragequite, Meepster55 which is the mother of both General and Ragequite. The list goes on and on. Most of my Friends list is from flash not like most who just add people. These people added me or made me add them because they were too lazy. This is the map where i picked up the Thompson and started my campaign of terror or annoyance but throughout my career i always used the gun because it always reminded me of flash and the good times, not the "Oh it gives you headshots all the time which it does not. Believe me i use the gun all the time and after a night of flash which consisted of 9 Hours of playing and flash never being empty i only had 50 headshots out of 800 kills. I think that was also the night kerak got over 1,000 kills. I missed that a lot. Sure i am forced to play all the other DoD:s maps like Donnor, Ava, Kalt, Strand......but they do not compare to flash. Flash was the map where all the rejects or Comediennes went to play. If you wanted characters you got them at flash. Everyone had to talk and make jokes and kill things. The best night was when Mr. T joined up. That guy was good. I do not get that anymore on the other servers though.
Before anyone else talks about this because i have not forgotten the layout of the map. The thing most people complain about are the 24/7 grenades. Well what is really sad is i was always on that map and always moving forward that i hardly ever got killed by a grenade. I have had people really flame this map because of it. The funny thing is this map is not AvA or strand so you cant just stand there and snipe people in the road....why because i would make sure my granade hit you in the face or i flanked you through hotel. The only areas that the snipers hung out around was Kirks tree which was in field watching the back ally, the Sniper house by the First flag or the one on the main road, and almost anywhere in field. Flash took strategy weather you want to accept it or not. Hell flash was the most equal map out there. Both sides where so even we have never been able to cap out at all for the whole server time of 363 or whatever it is. Most maps are not even because it always gave an advantage towards the axis. Well flash was always allied favored because we just about always won the game. Axis never had anything on us. Maybe this was another reason why flash died because its not axis favored like the rest of the maps.
Heck flash made history and so did kalt. I never did like the kalt video because its a sniper but i do give him props. I wonder if anyone remembers this?

Flash is different then most maps. I am willing to fight for it but this fight i can sadly say will not be won only by me, but seeing as how 99% of the community hates flash i might as well take my DoD:s tag off. Unless we do this...
1) Get flash back
2) Have at least 6 people play flash for at least 1 hour at a reasonable time( not 1 am)
3) Continue to fill it each day
4) Get Cpt. kirk and his Redshirts back (optional)

really, this map with the people on it was fun and entertaining, i wouldnt of joined eGO (probably wouldnt of even found it) if it wasnt for this server.
the map as you say was probably the most balanced we had, nades we NOT a problem if you actually played it much, there was camping sure, but they were always close by and easy to get too.
i dont disagree with anything you say tbh (rare for me
) but no mention of me and my tree climbing ability lol

haha i remember the one time where half the team was trying to get up there and only me and i think kirk and you where holding everyone at bay....good times, and i did make it up there, took me about 2 hours but i did lol

I know, there are about 3 others that i know of that could help but we do not have flash back that is the problem. We would also need better communication too.

I love this post Dutch! It got me thinking of when I first started playing DoD. I would love to hop on flash and play with the Flash crew. I really wish that we could get flash back and Fill it. Heck im all for helping to get it beck!

this. I would assume flash will be back after the colmar server population goes down. As I speak colmar is 32/32. Kalt was 28/32 at 4AM this morning.

after the way kalt was replaced (ninja map swap like this) i hardly think what was said in this thread was an overreaction, more communication from leadership on the server changes is obviously needed. Anyway, most of what dutch said about flash is only relevant if it returns after eveyone gets bored of colmar.

For me, I've always felt Flash an interesting map. It presents it's own problems and scenarios that needs to be met in different ways.
Colmar... I've really only played that map three times probably. Twice in realism, and then the third when C-WHiT was slapping the living daylights out of me, lol.
My feeling for Flash dying is kinda sad. When at it's best, it was definitely fun to play and enjoyable how the tides could turn so quickly. Arguably, it probably is the most evened out map for both sides.
Whenever, or if, Donner died down... it'd be good to see Flash still up because I rather go there than a one-sided Avalanche.
Probably everyone will think I'm just a donner guy but, I do have my likings for the other maps and Flash was one of them. Every so often I'd pop in there, and I tried to help fill it in the last few months (definitely not with as much determination and spirit as Dutchoper, it is his map afterall and I see how strongly he fights for it).
I'm usually always open about filling servers, kinda just depends on what I'm doing at the time. If I see Donner empty, that's probably the first server I'd be filling just because for me, that's my home server. After that, I try help fill Anzio sometimes to try lure C-WHiT out there
But Flash was always one of my main alternates after Donner...
As for the ways and means to get Flash back...
Probably another good suggestion would probably be recruiting guys who love Flash.
It's probably impossible/improbable to replace Dutch's "Flash Crew" but, having a good set of guys who love Flash always attracts them to the map and at least then, they'd have a group of people who're always willing to fill it at a moment's notice.
It's kinda like when I see Donner empty and I know guys who love that map and are always willing to come in and help fill it. After an hour or so, we end up getting it filled.
Having that kind of Flash crew or, Flash lovers would be good within the community. How we find them now with no Flash, I'm not sure but yeah, just a suggestion I suppose.

Hate to hear this. Flash was the first map that I regularly played on and it's still my favorite map. My first stop when signing on is to check and see if anyone is there. I'd love to see it come back, I've had many a great evening on there. I've really missed getting shoveled in the back by Troy. I'm willing to help fill it whenever possible but most of my play comes late at night now.

I agree, its time to make a new Flash crew. I started playing in eGO on Flash, and got to know quite a few people in the community by doing so. Its also where I learned the finer skills in using the Rocket class!.. I would love to see Flash come back as a daily filled and fun server. I have all the time in the world, as Im a disabled vet.... so I do agree that we should enlist a new crew for Flash and get that puppy fil;led on a constant daily basis.
I think a lot of us got into eGO from flash, not everyone, but a good amount of us. I used to play there because even if it wasn't full the guys there were awesome. Let's give that experience back to others when we get flash back, and it WILL be back. Flash always comes back.

Don't worry guys Colmar is only temporary we're going to install a mod that converts DoD to CSS and we will have our very own Jail server.
