Well ok I have no knowledge at all about computers so Im here asking for some help for u guys, first thing I wanna know is, if u have an old monitor that cant really support ur resolution in cod4 will it affect ur fps like fps droping n messing up ur reg? Second is there anything thats more important to upgrade than ur graphics card in order for u to get the best reg? And other than buying a new computer wat are sum parts I can upgrade on my computer in order to get the best gaming experiance that I can? Any help will be greatly appreciated:thumbup1:

No a monitor will not drop your reg but it will provide you with video lag which I guess yes it can screw up your personal aim.
Besides a video card for better reg only next step(s) would be RAM or a secondary hard drive. Other than that just keep your computer cleaned up , all unneeded software and everything off, give it a disk cleanup once a week and a defrag maybe once a month.

well my first question what type of brand is it. its a crt? and yes it matters u will not get good rez if its not a Trinitron... the Trinitrons are the best monitors out there. its a 80lb crt but it is awesome!

Specs of your computer are required. Video card is the most important component as far as gaming goes. However, newer games are requiring a more powerful cpu as well. New video card could mean a new power supply. New cpu can mean a new motherboard, though you may be able to upgrade to a faster cpu using your current board. However, there comes a point where upgrading your old computer is a lost cause and it is simply smarter to build anew.
Upgrading the hdd will have little to no effect on your gaming experience. Ram could have some performance increase depending on your OS and amount of ram currently. 4gb is the magic number for windows 7.

Depends on the monitor that you are using so you might have to be a bit more specific. In my opinion the Video card will be the most important part for gaming, so that'd be the staple.
You can also upgrade ram, but all you need is around 4GB for absolute optimal.
The CPU will be important, but it can't be upgraded cheaply. Plus I go with the rule that as long as it is a decent dual-core you will be fine.

LOL wow huck yea it will would u rather have a 5400rpm hdd or a 7200rpm hdd. because last time i check SPEED is very important to a computer loading the program...

its a toss up with the ram and cpu. if u r running windows 7 i would get more ram if u r running VIsta well no point really...

Loading the game is the least of his worries. He wants performance IN the game. Not to mention how much time you save loading a game on a 5400 vs a 7200 rpm hard drive. Do you know for a fact he even has a 5400 rpm hdd?

huck i will not be arguing with u anymore. i will leave it at that. i have made my points and i am done. for the OP please put your specs of your current computer on so that others can commit on and make suggestions on to what needs the most attention to.

The moniter will not affect reg. I know this as I played Call of Duty 4 competitive leagues for a year until it died. You should always use Yitch3 for a lowest gfx config. I have my own config that I made with my friends but it isn't up for download, and it approves with leages as well as yitch 3. If you need help putting a config in just ask!
