Diablo 2: LOD asking for CD

So I purchased D2LOD off of Battle.net today. I own the game already but i've lost the disc and the cd-key i have says its too old to work (i have it from release). Anyway I bought the game under the assumption I wouldn't need a CD since it is a digital purchase.

I can download the client, run the launcher but I can't run the game. When I hit "Launch" I get a pop-up message saying insert "expansion disc". I obviously don't have one.

Check the D2 Forum, Bnet support forum, Helpdesk at Bnet. No luck. Just other issues. What do you guys think?

Use the version relevant to yours and follow the instructions.

Thank you for the suggestion, but that was kind of the reason for actually buying another copy. I want to legitimately play the game, and not put my battle.net account at risk.

Any game that you have a physical copy to, or proof of purchase, you may play without a CD. That's why this site is still running.

This is what I use to play Starcraft II without a CD, and the Sims 3 without a CD.
I also used this site to play Diablo without a CD back in the day.

You should contact the game itself. It should have a Company Office where you can call for Technical Information. I've tried it myself for GTA: San Andres.
