Well some may know. Im using my 50" plasma as my main monitor, and well lets say its a PITA..

So im looking at a few monitors, 23' range, need HDMI, and grabbing from microcenter in NEOhio.

Ive came to the conclusion that it will be one of the 2 :

Acer S231HL bid

LG E2381VR-BN

Which one would you you all recommend? Im kinda leaning towards the acer as ive owned 2 other acers and never had a problem..

They're about the same. Just subtle differences. Contrast ratios have been a bit deluded over the years so I wouldn't pay much attention to that. The LG appears to be slightly slimmer. But My money would go towards the Acer.

Go for acer. I've had so many acer monitors and none of them ever failed on me. No dead pixels either, ever. Also, by HDMI you mean what? Only difference between DVI and HDMI is that HDMI gives audio. But I highly doubt you're going to use built in speakers if your acer monitor even has them.

Agree, The acer monitor never fails me. Perhaps buying an Acer Computer as well!

Want Hdmi for if i get bored while the family is watching tv, I could hook my PS3/xbox up to via hdmi.

Yea I guess the general consensus is the Acer..

And thanks

Hmm, interesting. Well you can definitely do that then. Good luck on your purchase :)

I've done that with my 360 a number of times. It's great fun. But Since I don't have speakers on my monitor, I had to modify my RCA cable to be able to be used with my HDMI cable at the same time, so I could have sound.

I've done it with my ps3 and it is quite easy, just a couple of sound settings changed and I had sound coming out of the Audio Cables instead of the HDMI.

I trust LG but i would rather get a samsung if your paying $160+

Trust me if they had one that fit my criteria at the store I would..

Pretty mcuh everything electronic in my house is samsung. :) Plasma, DVR box, Harddrives, Blu ray. Almost bought a samsung microwave.. lol

well I had to work late, so I would of never made it to microcenter, so I unfortunately had to go to best buy.

While looking at the 1000's of monitors they had, ( i mean 8.. ) This dell caught my eye.. Dell SR2320L

For some reason the depth of colors it had stood out at me. So after $190 something out the door, I have my first dell product.. "DUDE YOU GOT A DELL!!" :)

So far not to bad.. few little settings had to be adjusted but looking good..

It is an LED panel, so the colors should pop a little better than an LCD panel.
