Over the past week and plenty of times just a little while me and a few other of our players were gettting sniped through smoke screens left and right. I'm not sure whats up with this, does anyone know anything about it?

Edit: Something like this i.e. smoke screen in front of me by like 20 yards. I see nothiong around, then when i get close bam headshot. Or smoke on side of building me running behind smoke to other building bam sniped again. A few of us were plagued by this type of random stuff. All sorts of ways you could imagine using smoke, same result. Never had issues before until a few days ago.

Two things people need to remember.

1) Smoke is to cover people.. so when there is smoke in a certain area most likely there are people hiding ether in it or near it. Thus why people spray bullets there.

2) Luck nuff said. Even a blind man can hit a hole in one.

If you're playing on normal, I shoot through smoke if I think there might be someone there.

If you are marked I'm definitely going to shoot right under the magical orange triangle. :)

i understand luck and yea there is people behind smoke but i mean come on everytime we got near it and took one step bam killed. Its either the luckiest player around or maybe a way to glich to see through it? My last death by smoke if you will, I stuck myself half behind the building and half behind the smoke and headshot. Just seemed weird that most kills where headshots by sniper.

At certain brightness and contrast ratios, it is possible to abuse camera angles to get a clearer view within and through smoke. This is especially true for people who alter the FOV via the settings. However, what I would assume is that the enemy team had a relatively good location to shoot through that smoke from and you were forced through that path, thus if they popped motion mines or spotted you via the 3d spotting system if you're in normal mode, they could very easily light you up in a matter of seconds. I've found that double-stacking smoke screens effectively cuts the FOV abuse down to near pointlessness, so just drop an ammo pack and spray about 4-6 smoke screens in a tightly packed location and proceed from there.

All this being kept in mind, go with what noxx_ pointed out, people just pew pew pew into the smoke and get lucky.

If Krod, Vertago or my self are in the same server... you probably die because of a Smoke grenade in the face! :P

I actually have had your smoke grenade to the face lol. I'm not really QQing just wondering because i have been hearing complaints about the smoke thing from other players on our HC MIXED server and well me and infection had our run ins as well.

If you notice that it is the same player shooting you many times then tell a member of leadership and we'll see if there isn't something more incriminating about them in their stats.

You guys also have to take into account the fact that some DX 11 effects doesn't show well or at all when the user is still using DX11.

Also with smoke, like on my roommates computer, when there is smoke cover if he is far enough away the smoke will appear as a slight haze not actually covering anything. We've messed with his setting but that's just how it appears.

Yeah, people can play with the graphics to get around the smoke's cover, but I know for myself personally I can see people emerging very easily, and I know it must linger on their side longer than it appears on my side. Not sure that makes any sense, but just throwing that out there.

Also, I like ham.
