Hello everyone, i was hoping to stumble across someone or anyone rather in the community that would be able to help assist me in finding the right parts to buy for a computer being built from scratch. I have a maximum spending profit of $800.00 and sadly, i don't know squat about building rigs, Can anyone help?

This is what I could come up with. I'm gonna assume you already have the necessary peripherals to game: mouse, keyboard, monitor, etc. Once you have all your parts, Phobus' has a great guide for putting everything together. It's very easy and very satisfying once you've built one yourself.

I want a rig that is good enough to run Call Of Duty: MW2, WAW, Black Ops and Yes Battlefield 3 all smoothly and without computer problems holding me back. I am able to slowly buy piece by piece as i only have a part time job and make about $500.00 a paycheck

Also, whatever you do, don't buy a GTX460 for $200. That's about the stupidest idea right now. You can get a 1GB 6950 for $200 and that blows away a 460 like nobody's business.

Houston we have a problem. To run BF3, you will need a strong PC build, somewhere around $1000-$1500.
Lastly, you havent answered my question, will you be needing a fresh new system if not, tell me what parts you need.
The build I showed you will run everything CURRENTLY out. It will probably be able to run Battlefield 3 even at low settings.
I was trying to stay within the $800 range. I do agree with you on the 6950.

Those specs are for the alpha trial.
Yes. From what people have speculated and specs that have been "leaked", I don't think those are to far off from what the final product will need to run.
For those games, yes, they will run very smoothly.

Okay, that's pretty much all that i need, i mean.. i DO want to be able to run Battlefield 3, but, i don't really have the desire to play it as much as anyone else, i am more of a Call of Duty gamer anyway

BF3 is going to have graphics that no one can MAX without over-clocking the best system, or waiting. That has to do with the quality of Processors and Video cards out for the moment. New products are coming onto the market as we speak. (AMD's new A6/A8 series, as well as the Sandybridge/Llano additions) What I am doing is waiting to buy the processor and board, but getting the rest; that way when the processor I want comes out the build with go right together.
BUT if you want to play everything on Med to High graphics on all those games, the build that has been laid out for you is quite good and can handle very well.

That's a mistake.
If you really only want to spend about $800 on a rig, save up just a little more cash-monies and order something like this -- which Phobus or Reflex or any of our build gurus will post something even better in 3, 2, 1... blast off!
Joking aside, for all of ~$50 more (shipped!), you can have a pretty boss gaming rig that will run all of the games you mentioned -- aside from BF3 -- on max settings. I know because I have a lesser rig that runs all of those games maxed (see below) on a 1080p widescreen with no FPS lag, period. You can check my specs in my signature! :?
Don't forget the $10 off the CPU with the code AMDNE7192 and you're good to go.

Nice build, runo. That has to be the cheapest aluminum case I've ever seen, so sexy too. If I were to change anything, I'd suggest a different PSU. For a single 6950, the CX430V2 will be plenty and is a very solid unit. Of course, there's nothing wrong with the Neo Eco either. For $15 difference it's not much, but I'd say the CX430V2 is overall a better fit for the build as is and helps fit the OP's budget.
If that extra $50 over budget is too much for the OP, a GTX 560 (non-Ti) or a 6870 would be the first thing I'd look for.

Thanks! Yeah, that PSU you linked is pretty sweet -- I like Corsair's V2 iteration of the TX and CX units, especially since Corsair utilizes SeaSonic components in their better units.
Now that I think on it, that PSU may actually be a better buy for this build. I recommended the Eco because it's got slightly higher wattage, but honestly, I don't think Langlois will need that much output for this build, so that $15 difference from the Corsair unit could help them achieve their purchase even sooner.
That case is one of the ones I've recommended a couple of times to friends because it looks sexy, it performs well -- aluminum, *BLEEP* yeah - and it's a really awesome buy for that price (even for just $10 off as it is). I also happen to like top-mounted PSUs, but that may be personal preference since my case rests on the bottom shelf of my computer desk so dust tends to happen. ;|
