Cow Mangler Nerfed

I'm going to keep using the mangler even if they nerf it to do only 1 damage just to piss people off lol I love the weapon for the epicness don't really care if I lose every single fight with it as long as im shooting lazors and ur shootin little uncool unflashy thingies at me:P

I didn't think that the laser needed any nerfing. 5 consecutive shots were fine and dandy with me with a -10% damage reduction, also with the 27% movement or so when charging the laser which takes 3 seconds. The damage reduction is even less now I believe, especially with the charged shot which is 1.5-2x the damage of a regular shot. That can obviously one shot some classes, but so can my direct hit at point blank. The reload time increase is actually devastating. I traded mine away since the beginning since I never liked the weapon, but got it again and traded it back just to try it for a few seconds.

The damage reduction means squat in any meaningful sense because the number of rockets it takes to kill a class isn't affected at all.

Slower reload adds a whopping .25 seconds to reloading the entire clip and it barely matters because that extra rocket lets you mop up stragglers. Slower reload means nothing when you've already killed everyone.

Charge shot isn't even an issue.

Five rockets in a clip is incredibly powerful. It lets you dive bomb with FOUR rockets, essentially adding around 90 damage to your volley.

The only true downside to the weapon is that you can't reload then fire another rocket as fast as the original rocket launcher, which doesn't matter because you already have that extra rocket in the clip anyway, plus any competent Soldier worth his salt would switch to his shotty if he ran out.

EDIT: Oh, and also, it actually does MORE damage than the original rocket launcher at close range thanks to higher ramp-up.

Yup. Totally balanced.

Good points DRaGZ; now please quit calling them rockets.
LASER Beams, they are frikkin' LASER Beams!

Well, as a former scientist, I can't in good conscience call them lasers because they act like projectiles.

Also, for all intents and purposes, they function exactly the same as rockets.

It would be different if I was talking about that Bison, though. That would be like...slow-moving plasma or something.

Yeah, let's just all call them slow-moving plasma.
