internal server error idirect3ddevice present

i get this on alot of map's, sometimes I can play for a few, sometimes it crashes at startup, and sometimes as soon as I log on it crashes...when windows searches for a solution it tells me that the HL2.exe closed, and that there are no known solutions, and it gives me a website to valve, which by the way is no longer in service...I've recieved this error 141 times since downloading the game on Feb 4.

I can play FLASH, and Kalt for the most part with no probs..read over the internet and found similar probs,and it seems as if you have to get outdated drivers for the fix, which doesn't help me because I need updated drivers for my other programs....I have zero comp knowledge with fixes, so anyhelp would be appreciated.
