So, im looking for a new computer to be able to run BF:3, and also a monitor that has at least 5ms

this will be the specs the computer MUST have.

Minimum requirements for Battlefield 3
OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7
Processor: Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz
RAM: 2GB
Graphic card: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible Nvidia or AMD ATI card.
Graphics card memory: 512 MB
Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version

I also want to try to find a good price. A good price would probably be under 1000 or 1200 dollars.

Also, I have one more question. If I get the minimum specs, will I still lag when I play the game due to the new computer?

First off those are just the expected requirements for the game. We do not know the official requirements for the game. Also if you only get the minimum requirements then you will be able to run the game but not well so you would be on low graphics and would probably have a pretty low frame rate. I'm no computer builder but I'm sure these guys can build you a very decent rig well under $1200 and probably even under $1000.

I suggest for that price (seems plenty to me) you put a good build together to last you atleast the next few years. Games bigger and better than bf3 when released will require more power. Don't just go for the minimum.

You are going to want at least a quad core. I would highly recommend the Intel i5 2500k. If you build a computer with the minimum specs it will likely be an awful experience playing online. I expect BF3 to be at least as cpu demanding as Bad Company 2, in which case you better go for a current generation quad core. You would be happy with a basic i5 2500k/Asus P8P67/Radeon 6950 2GB/8GB DDR3 1600 type build.

Everyone else is saying this, but I'll condense it in essence:

For $1000-1200, you'll get a custom built PC (by you or someone else) that will exceed the minimum requirements, and probably even the recommended requirements.

Remember, minimum specs means to run it at the very WORST graphics abilities. Recommended specs is what you should always aim to have as the bare minimum for gaming, and beyond that is always better for gaming performance.

Let the part pricing begin!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824262011 Here is the monitor I bought that will be arriving with my gaming rig build tomorrow. It has a lot of 5 star reviews, is a 21.5 inch hd screen and has 5ms response time on it. The full price is $160 but with the current $40 savings and the $10 off promo you can get it for $110, not a bad deal =D.

As far as my build, I have it listed here -> http://www.edgegamers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=180307

I assume it should run bf3(having recommended settings for the game would help) but it has a 3.3 ghz quad-core processor with 3.7 ghz turbo boost and a geforce gtx 560 graphics card (1 gig of GDDR5 memory)

I didn't total this all up, but I believe it should stay under 1200 bucks. Monitor is really just a preference, stick to samsung or HANNspree for good quality.
