Hello, my name is +g4J+Egg, formerly kwn as =(e)=Ninja! i was in eGO around 2months ago and was in the CoD division. So as time passed, CoD had LOTSSSSS of problems. Servers were crashing on me, and it got to the point where i didn't want to play anymore because it got me too frustrated. So i left edge gamers. And lately i found out about Team Fortress 2. And Man, in my opinion it blows CoD away! It is one of those games that once you play it once, you are hooked! So, i will be rejoining real soon (i have family over for the week and really dont have time to play) and will be joining into the Team Fortress 2 division! I am regular on alot of the servers but am most active on the 24/7 2fort. i love the spy (so watch your back!) I am also on Ventrillo alot also so i will see you all around. But i have a few questions since only really have around 10 hours of experience.
1. Currently i have the FTP version of TF2, but i really want the paid version so i can get into the game more buy trading, and finding items in crates. i have been told that to upgrade to the paid version, you need to buy one item from the Man Co. Store. Is this true? So it can be a little dollar item?
2.How does the whole "trading"Thing work? Do you just ask somebody to trade in the in-game chat bar, and a little trading screen opens ? Somebody please elaborate how it works.
3. Last Question. How do crates work? Are they like little boxes that appear randomly hidden for the members with the paid version? I have found some stuff like Dueling Pistols x5. Where those from crates?


Any answers to any of these questions will be very appreciated

1. Actually yes it's right when you get to buy something in the Mann. Co store online , or on TF2. It's as if you had paid the game.
2. Dont worry about trading until you havent paid anything in game.
3. Crates have an old secret. Actually you can buy the keys to them.

And last little note , dont worry about thouse details too much, spray n pray.

Basically, with trading, you will go into your items. THen there will be a little icon on the right that says "Trading". CLick on that, and you can choose to trade with a friend, or someone from the game. Select their name, and they will get an invite. From there, you both can chat in a little chat box and talk about what you want etc. Then, drag the items in that you want to trade, then you will check a little box. Once you both have checked the box, you will BOTH have to click "Trade Now" and then voila. You have your new items and they have theirs

#3 crates - You receive crates in the random drop system much like items. Crates are set up in numbers for specific classes like crate 24(?) is spy stuff. The only way to open crates is from keys from the store which cost 2.49 a pop. The big prize money item is the unusual rare which has a 1% drop rate. Before the FTP update the weapons from crates were regular but now they made them all "strange" which gives them a kill count added to them with a special name on certain ranks. Just to clarify they do not count toward your drop rate and not all series of crates are specific to a single class. Also, when new crates numbers come out the old ones stop dropping.
