Medic's Primary

Spy is a support class.
Sniper is a support class.

Well good thing we don't KILL people or anything.

Think about it this way.

The other support classes, the sniper and spy, both have thier own offensive capabilities.

Sniper:
1.Huntsman: A close quarters weapon, so the sniper does not have to sit back and snipe.
2. Jarate: More along the lines of support, but a sniper will not usually be able to use jarate to its fullest when he is using the vanilla sniper rifle.

Spy:
1. Enforcer: The enforcer is a weapon that makes cloak worse than normal, cloak being a huge of what the spy is, in exchange for power.

If Valve makes an easily viable way for the medic to be a "battle medic," pub servers will go even further downhill. There's already too many "battle medics" as it is. Medic = healing. The medic should rarely use the needle gun, save retreating and as a last resort to stay alive.

Or Spies sneaking up on their patient.

Ditto on the other point, though.

I like Noise's idea.

Or press v and "spy behind you!"

Chances are if the spy is close enough to stabbing them that they wouldn't be able to turn around in time to kill it after you say that, you also wouldn't have time to kill it with the needle gun.

But valid point for pubs without mics, I suppose.

I've always wanted a melee weapon for the medic that acts as a legit syringe, instead of just looking like one.

For example, every time you would hit an enemy with the syringe, it drains 25 health from them. and with that 25 health, it fills up 25% of the syringe. You can have 100 health into the syringe at once pretty much. Now if you hit an ally with that syringe, it gives them the 25 health. Now it seems kind of useless since the medic already has a medigun, but if valve ever really does decide to make the medic more of an offense class, this would be usefull leaving the secondary slot to be used by something else.

Seems like that would make the medic less effective at healing allies than heavies...

A medics primary weapons are his team mates.

For the spy wary.

Whenever you use your microphone the people on your team hear you and see the speech icon over your head. So greet your team mates and they will know that you are not a spy. If they don't greet you they may be a spy, or they may just be rude.

There, you see? Common courtesy is useful.

Just one of the many tips you can learn by reading How to get healed.

Out of the three primaries, I like the blutsauger the most. The increased movement speed or normal auto-heal don't do much for you if you have someone attacking you directly (which is most of the time if your opponent is smart). My aim has gotten good enough to where I can hit people more often now.

I can usually take down most classes with the blutsauger if they're by themselves and not within melee range (I've even been able to blutsauger heavies), but in the end, the medic should be healing his teammates. Keeping them alive as a team will keep them fighting and ultimately achieve your objective.

Rules to being medic: 1: heal your fellow medic, 2: heal your teammates 3: battlemedic the spy behind you :p.

The problem with engies and medics is that they control the flow of the game, and if they have only a tad of an overpowered weapon, it can destroy the flow of tf2. Soldier gets so many weapons because it usually does not decide the course/outcome of the battle. So, leave medic alone if you don't want to have horrible games, and people yelling about overpowered weapons.

... good point. I still think the medic should get a differant primary weapon, but besides that, good point.

^ The blutsauger is an insanely powerful weapon if you know how to use it...

There is the coined term of "battle medic." If there will be a new primary weapon for the medic, it will be one that reduces support capabilities and increases offensive abilities. So far... I have no ideas. Giving the medic a rifle is too far-fetched in my opinion.

This.

I'd like something along the lines of Alien Swarm's battle medic; he couldn't heal as well or as fast, but his he had stronger melee attacks and his gun did more damage; he also had drugs and injection specialty, iirc.

All i know, if you know how to use blutsauger. . you can kill 1v1 solider without any problems, also good if you are running away you just shoot and get hp <3

For all of you "Battle Medics" out there looking for more powerful weapons. May I recommend the Heavy, Soldier, and Demo classes. More healing less shooting. That's what Medics are all about.

You shouldn't be able to. Not a half decent soldier w/ full health, anyways.
