Hey guys just ordered parts to put together a computer.

Motherboard (ASUS M4A87T -- AMD 870)
Memory (8 GB [2 GB X4] DDR3-1600 Memory Module)
Video Card (AMD Radeon HD 6970 - 2GB - Single Card
Power Supply (850 Watt -- CoolerMaster)
Primary Hard Drive (2 TB HARD DRIVE -- 64M Cache, 7200 RPM, 6.0Gb/s - Single Drive)

I did like what Asus had to offer motherboard wise.

Doesn't even have to be a k edition, really. At this point in time, buying Thuban is a mistake.

That looks like a solid computer. I would get a SSD (Solid State Drive) for the boot up drive and keep the other as storage. Overall though it should perform well.

I would suggest a Deneb based CPU or a Sandy Bridge based CPU over Thuban.

Intel Core i5-2500k

Those are both great CPUs.You could also wait for Bulldozer to come out. But, that's up to you. It might be worth the wait if the FX 8150 can compete with the 990X for cheaper.
