2nd Annual eGO DoD FF League

Just waiting to hear back from Spanky and Mr.Wizard.

Also, do any of you 2010 returning managers have any proposed rule/scoring changes? efren has one so far -- he's suggesting locking the waiver wire for a day or two after the week's games, so that players aren't first-come-first-serve during the games themselves. I'm fine with that. Any others?

cant we have more players in the league? Or do a second league?

I like Efren's idea. It'll give me a chance to have a sitdown with my co-manager(s) (Little does faceman know that my parents are also co-Managers) and discuss who to pick up.

Yes, if Spanky and Wizard return, then we'll expand to 16 to accommodate Nosh, Boyle, Hardstyle4life, and SilentDrifter85. If they don't return, then we'll do 14.

I don't think there's enough interest within DoD to get a second league. I know Kiwi asked about opening it up to other divisions and possibly having inter-division playoffs but it'll get messy (i.e. coordinating with other divisions, and also Yahoo's free version probably wouldn't support such a set up) and at the moment I'd prefer to limit it to just our beloved DoDers.

just registered, why does the draft have be so late? i might have to take an afternoon nap.

That was just a placeholder I put in when I renewed the league.

What are you guys' preferences? Just bear in mind that it's virtually guaranteed that we won't be able to agree on a time+date that everyone will be happy about, so we'll just have to try to please the majority (and most importantly me :P).

Game 1 is on Sept 8 (Thurs). Assuming Fri-Sun afternoon/evenings are best for most, do you guys prefer 9/2 (Fri), 9/3 (Sat), or 9/4 (Sun), and what time? I'm in NY the weekend prior to that, so the other option is 8/19 (Fri), 8/20 (Sat), or 8/21 (Sun).

My suggested change is --

In addition to locking the waiver wire between the week's first game and Tuesday....also implementing the Free Agents Acquisition Budgets (FAAB) waivers system. This is where you bid a portion of your season's budget on FAs. Forces you to think carefully before picking a player up rather than just abusing add/drops all season long.

I am adamantly against salary caps of any kind:p Adding and dropping is fun and should be free. Also Friday early evening best for me. But we dont have to be present for the draft, do we? I wouldnt know who to pick anyways, other than Drew Brees.

It wouldn't be a salary cap system per se. The $100 FA bidding budget would only come into play once a week, i.e. when the waiver wire gets unlocked for the first time after the week's game. After that, between then and the start of the next week's games, add/drops would be free.

Lol sweet! That will take a little bit of pressure off of me when you jump ship!

Nah, once I leave you're on your own. They're just there to say. "Hey this guy did good." and Ill be like, "Oh." *go to pick up, but realize the person I play the next week already has*

Nope, you don't have to be present, just make sure you pre-rank your draft list, otherwise you'll be at the mercy of the Yahoo gods.

Teams will be finalized by this weekend, no further teams will be added after that. Last call for interested participants and confirmation from some of you!

And yes, that means you, Spanky, Wizard, Hardsyle, and Boyle!

Roll for your positions (and divisions)!

Ok guys, teams are set and it's time to roll for your draft positions!

We've lost Mr.Wizard and Spanky for this year, but please welcome our newest victims I mean teams, Nosh and Silent Drifter!

Here's what I need you to do to roll (parts in blue are the only fields on the site you need to change) --
1) Go to this site
2) Roll 3 d 100
3) Email the results to [email protected]
4) Character name = your eGO name

Need 1 volunteer whom I can email my dice roll to. I think last year it might have been Kiwi.

Highest dice total gets the first draft position. When all 12 rolls are in, teams will be alternated into divisions starting with Allies for the 1st pick.

As dice roll results come in, I'll update accordingly on the first post of this thread.

Good luck!

ETA: Tie-breakers will be determined by the 3rd die (higher wins).
