Already pre-ordered on Origin =). I'm so excited, game looks great. I got the download though since I want it right away, but now I kinda want a physical copy. And I hope the physical warfare pack is just early access to weapons and things that can be unlocked later.
 
im just going to preorder thru gamestop, idc about getting in the beta 2 days b4 some ppl, one reason is that there wont be that many ppl doing in the larger view. another thing is that why should i sit there waiting for a game to download when i can just get a hard copy (i rarely lose hard copies unlike most people, its now hard really to keep track of them) and install it whenever i like without having to download it for half a day, i can be done and playing within 5 minutes

its interesting that not steam games are becoming $60 as well, the trend kinda started because of some FCC ruling or w/e about steam becoming to much of a monopoly in online game downloads and sales so they forced game publishers to put an extra $10 on top of the regular price if they are going to allow the game to be sold on steam to help spread marketshare to other forms of digital downloads.

but i have no idea why some newer games are doing this like BF3 that wont even be on steam, unless its some marketing scheme to net more profit, but idk without looking it up

Edit: To add to why they used to be $50 is because unlike console titles, PC doesnt usually have to pay the $10 licensing fee to develop games for the platform whereas on consoles you gotta pay nintendo, microsoft, or sony to do that. This sudden trend in PC pricing could have something to do with inflation but it doesnt explain why console games are still selling for $60 as the norm

Developers have to give Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo a royalty fee that is what makes console games usually more expensive than PC games.

yea i just said that 2 of my posts ago. the licensing fee is $10 but my point is that regardless of the fee if development costs went up causing PC games to jump $10 then the console versions would jump as well, the fee's dont cover development costs, its just a fee they have to pay to release a game for that console.

And seems like some Alpha testers will run a pre-beta phase... to test the load of the servers, etc before the Beta starts...

Alpha-testers got a neat pre-order bonus to get a free game from Origin. I'm still on the fence about the game though.
