CS:S: When to Shift-Walk! ~Helpful :)

As an G-level admin, you should be encouraging positive and family friendly discussion on these Edge-gamers forums.

Now go to your room and don't come back until you have a better attitude young man.

Don't we all love iEye? :D

what ive learned is dont walk, at least in pubs. basically it slows everything down, and if ur gona kill the guy then it doesnt matter if ur walking and bein scared, just run around and use ur radar and sound..i really cant stand when i see ppl walking personally, its frustrating to watch, w.e tho really

edit, just use walk when u feel the need, its easy to tell when enemies can potentially be near

As a fellow O level admin you should understand that we do not troll in these threads, and I have come to remove you.

Now anyway, this thread had a pretty good start, however you should not pop smoke if you are going to be shift walking. Popping smoke tells them where you are so there was no point in shift walking in the first place lol

So lately, I've been seeing alot of you guys walking the whole round, here are some tips to help you determine when you should and should not be walking.

1. You NEVER, EVER walk when your trying to get away from somewhere.

-When an enemy has shot you to about 30-40 health, you don't want to try to sneak out, that is kind of obvious. The ideal thing to do is find a wall/ door to use a cover while you make your hasty escape. You do NOT want to use a small wall/corner and brace yourself that the enemy won't see you. It is easy to spot people in spots like those.

A more ideal solution would also be to get in a decent-covered spot and hide, and wait for the enemy, and do what you need to do to him

2. When to walk:

-You walk when you suspect there is an enemy in a good cover. You pop a smoke into a hall and slowly squirm your way through. It keeps the enemy more alert, and you are more quiet. You don't want to walk through the whole map, it just slows down your movement rate. Walking makes you quiet but it doesn't make you quick. Now I hope not to see people walking whenever they just feel like someone is there :C

Edited solely to make it read like a helpful tip rather than like a condescending complaint. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. I do not necessarily agree with all your statements.

yeah that is a better version, can I use it :)

Peole try their best to not make noise, but sometimes running can be used to throw your opponents off. I like to run up to corners, and stop before I run in. The other team usually anticipates me and tries to pre fire, then I come in and shoot them in the face. WIN :chair:

nice Jizzle. stopping and flashing works too, except when the other guy jumps around the corner and shoots you in the face while you are holding the flash in your hand o.O

I usually only walk when there is only a few amount of people left or I'm the last man standing on my team.

Totally agree.

It all depends on the number of people left on each team, skill level of remaining players, and other things. For example, I'm not going to just run around as the last player on my team against 3 or 4 on the other. I'm gonna try and be sneaky, to avoid detection.
