Enough PSU Power? [PC Build Help]

So I am finally getting ready to finish off building my new PC but I am not sure whether my current PSU will be able support what I plan to build. I only have a few more parts to buy and will in the next month or 2. (MB, CPU Cooler, SSD, Case) So as the title asks, Is my current PSU enough? Comments on the build are also welcome.


CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor (Already own, got it on sale for $150)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master RR-920-N520-GP 43.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($33.98 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-V PRO ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($209.99 @ Newegg)
Case: COOLER MASTER RC-692-KKN2 CM690 II Advanced Black Steel ATX Mid Tower or
LIAN LI Lancool PC-K62 Black 0.8 mm SECC, Plastic + Mesh ATX Mid Tower
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (Already own, got it on sale for $50)
Video Card: XFX Radeon HD 6870 1GB Video Card (CrossFire) (Already own)

Power Supply: Corsair 750W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply (Already own)

Hard Drives: Plextor PX-M2 Series PX-128M2S 2.5" 128GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (Plan to buy)
SAMSUNG EcoGreen F2 1.5TB SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5"
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5"
WD VelociRaptor 150GB 10000 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" (May remove)
2 x 300GB HDs @ 5400 RPM SATA (Cant remember manufacturer)
2 x 500GB External USB HDs
 
For two 6870's, a Corsair TX-750 PSU is fine. You should be golden. Pretty nice system you have there. Amazing that you got a 2500k for $150! :)
 
Short answer: Yes

Build comment: What are you using those old 5400 rpm HDDs for? Storage backup?
Nice buy on the RAM. Always like a good sale!
Interesting case choice. I've heard that it's not a mid-tower in the traditional sense, it's actually a bit bigger than what the avg. mid-tower is. Should fit the CF setup you got going without problems.
 
ya the 2 x 500GB 5400s are currently backup storage.....in a raid 1 array. I may get rid of them also:glare:
 
750 watt is fine, also Corsair is a great manufacturer.

As for the case, there are several I would like for you to ponder;

Antec 1200

I have the Haf 932, and this case is a monster. You can throw in any size video card in it, and it fits. I have a 6970 which is like 11 inches, and it fits.

You have so many hdd's... and why remove the velociraptor? Use that as your boot drive and use the ecogreen drive for storage. If you want to RAID1, I suggest getting another ecogreen samsung drive because they're super cheap. That's the best cost efficient solution to your storage issues.

And the psu is great. I'm planning on getting one of those very soon. Those pump like 720watts on the +12V rail, enough for xfire any cards

Another thought, get the SSD and use it for a boot drive, put the best games you play on the velociraptor, and 2 ecogreen drives in raid1 for backup/storage

nice build nice build. never thought dual 6970 would do really much thought 1 was pretty much all u need. but should last u awile.
 
As everyone else has said, 750W is plenty.

Your case.. I would suggest you take the COOLER MASTER case. I have a friend who has it and he absolutely loves it. He has a i5-2500k @4.5 + HD 6850 and he's said his CPU never passes 60C while benchmarking on air alone.

SSD - I would suggest something a little smaller to save money. You really only need your Operating System on your SSD. Certain games, such as APB: Reloaded are nice to have on a SSD, though. So with that being sad, a 60GB or 80GB is more than enough.

This one seems like a good one, but the reviews make me question it a bit...

I'm fairly certain that most of the reviews about it dying are user-error. I've seen a few Manufacturer Responses on SSD's with the SandForce controller saying that Hibernation and Sleep modes can cause the drive to fail after 3 months to a year. Simple fix if that is the problem.
 
I have that case and love it. Not only does it have all the cool features I need, it doesn't look like the back end of a donkey *cough*HAF*cough*. The one thing is, you've got a whole bunch of hard drives listed but this case only has slots for four HDDs. Unless you've got a 5.25" adapter you might be out of luck there.

I've never heard anything about the Cooler Master 520 before so I don't know how well it performs. However, if you want to search for it the HR-02 Macho competes with $90 coolers handily but comes in at $40. Just a suggestion.

Corsair is by far the best brand in anything. got that same power supply and its perfect.

I wouldn't have gone that far (they do falter on certain products), but they are definitely one of the better companies for computer parts.
 
I might have exaggerated, but every product I have bought from them is very quality and lasts forever
 
Finally got this rig up and running

I ended up changing the case to the Corsair 600T and MB to ASRock P67 Extreme4 Gen3

and yes the TV is hooked into the computer and mirrors the right monitor for watching movies. I didnt turn in on in the pic because it is too bright

I've put off buying a new rig for about a year now (I even made a thread asking for parts advice months ago) but this rig looks awesome for what I'd like to do. I think I'm gonna base what I buy off this, so good job and thank you sir. Looks great. Your desk setup is much nicer than mine :(

2) Did you keep the 5400 rpm HDDs in the build? Looking at the connections, it looks like you may have removed them, or have less HDDs than you originally planned.
3) Wiring a nightmare? Looks like you definitely had your hands full trying to keep them sorted.
4) Overall, nice build. You're ready for BF3 and then some.

I always wanted the Corsair 600T but it was a bit too much for my budget ($150). But 2 weeks ago they had it on sale for $110 after rebates so I jumped on it.

I decided to keep em as backup storage. Though I did get rid of my 2 Externals (300GBs and 500GBs) and replaced em with a 2TB external. So Total I have 5 Internals (Can see in the Pic) and removing the 300GBs will always be easy if i need too, I had the room in the case so i figured why not.

Indeed, if u can see in the pic, most wires from the PSU are going to the back of the case. The wire management in the case is quite nice and one of the main reasons I wanted it.

Indeed, and I have yet to OC it. Currently I am getting 120FPS in BC2 with all settings on high and 8xAA and 8xAF. Will try later...

Hmmm quite a bit....
Case: Corsair 600T - $110
CPU Cooler: Hyper 212+ - $30
CPU: i5 2500k - $150
MB: ASRock P67 Extreme Gen3 - $150
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 - $50
GPU: Radeon HD6870 x 2 - $400 (One was given to me as a gift so -$200)
PSU: Corsair 750W - $100 (Bought it 3 years ago and it still goes for the same price on NewEgg)
HDDs: WD VelociRaptor 150GB 10000 RPM SATA - $170 (Bought it 3 years ago)
and all my other HDs I honestly cant remember....

So with just the components I listed $1160 plus maybe another $200 or more worth of HDs. So my Computer not including Monitors is worth about $1400 more or less
