Windows 7 64-bit. My mouse/touchpad isn't working properly anymore. It works correctly immediately after startup but then the left click will only select the desktop. If a window is open, left click will not select anything in the window but will select desktop icons behind it. I am able to open items in the taskbar and open the start menu using the icon in the lower left corner but left clicking anywhere in the opened start menu closes it because its selecting whats behind it. This applies to two different mice as well as the laptop's touchpad. Also, the wheel on the mice eventually stops working as well. I haven't had any problems like this before and no changes were recently made to the system. Mice are both from Microsoft and intellipoint software is installed but I'm not sure that would be the problem if my touchpad is also doing the same thing. Navigating via the keyboard works fine so it doesn't seem to be a problem with explorer.exe. Disconnecting power for a while didn't work either. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
