TF2 not connecting to any server

I can go on tf2 easily, but whenever I connect to a server, any server, and when it's finished downloading it says 'hl2.exe is not responding' and then it says 'windows will notify you when you when the solution is fixed' then it just closes tf2 on me. I deleted local game content, I defragmented cache files, and then I deleted that blob file in steam documents.
Anyone mind helping?

Yeah, but it loads all the way then it says hl2.exe is not responding and tf2 closes.

Have you tried turning it off, and turning it on again?

No, but really - you could try reinstalling it. It sounds like a relatively deep problem (he says). If there were any programs you installed recently, you could see if they are causing it...

Do you have Raptr installed? Tf2 used to do that to me sometimes when I used Raptr.

Re-installed it and still doesn't work.
