Heavy Metal 500 ticket server

There we definitely some clowns on the server earlier today, but you guys did a great job of cleaning them out!

Thanks,
Chad

Which means that there will be more punks...I logged on to the server yesterday and immediately upon joining I had to kick 2 and ban 1:(

Add me on steam if you'd like, or xfire if you prefer that, names are both Panzer1509

My steam list might be full tho. Leave me a message on my profile (forum profile) if it is. :D

Getting a lot of punks camping the uncaps lately. Today it was 3 more chucklehead's stealing helos to just crash and repeat, not to mention fire upon anyone in the spawn area. For two hours this morning, no admin presence in the server and anything any e's stated was outright ignored or patronized.

Did you check on vent for an eG or eGO? There's usually at least one advisor on if none of the former are available.

I normally would but my mics been acting up so its hit or miss being able to contact anyone on vent.

Procon has the ability to define areas that can not be shot into or out of. If you set that up, anyone that makes a kill from the zone, or into the zone, will be punished or killed.

We don't do this because we do allow people to steal and sabotage vehicles in the uncaps which leads to them killing people sometimes. It also leads to snipers shooting out of the spawn and using the punish ability to stay defended. It leads to too much camping instead of trying to work as a team to get back out there and taking a base.

Many of the players just don't take the time to make themselves aware of the server rules. Mainly that stealing of enemy vehicles is allowed as LilShortStuf said. This is followed by complaints of base camping/raping and so on. When they hop from one to another the players have to realize that rules change. I will say that the griefing is the biggest pain. Trying to take off to be driven into the ground by the AA in your own uncap. Then there is little Mr I will fly the blackhawk all the way across the map just to crash land in the other uncap. Saw a player do that the entire game with no positive result for his team. Even his fellow team mates were getting on him about it. On the bright side this server has far less problems going on than most. Mashuto is a good admin to have on your list as well.

I've never been a fan of servers with lots of rules. It leads to admins having to admin the whole time on the server, people not knowing the rules, and people not caring about the rules.

Years ago, when I was in FLOT and we had a BF2 server, we dumped our rules like that. We went with the philosophy that if someone is base camping, they will either get theirs by being owned by the spawning team, the team he's base camping will stop spawning until he leaves or the team being camped will simply leave. While that's not the best thing to happen to a server, it made life on our admins a lot easier and made the server less complicated.
