reinstalling DoD need an admin to do a namechange for me

hey 1st time i played this game,i didnt know how to change my name(so it was player) and an admin of a diffrent server randomly changed it,i was tryin to change my name,but the place where it says name is boxed out and i cant click to change it

If you want to change your In game name Go to Steamsettings Friends there you can change your name

my forum name is fine

my Steam is also BloodNGore

but in DoD its a random name ,i wanna figure out how to change it in game

i looked a my steam settings the namein my steam settings is BloodNGore with my tags but in game im stuck with the name player

Load steam -> View -> Settings -> Friends -> Type name in "Profile" box. This should change the name in DoD when you haxxor someone with a shovel.

Also look in Options when DoD is loaded. You may need to change it there as well, but not sure.

also check your autoexec and config files. Go to steam/steamapps/your accountame/dayofdefeat/dod/cfg (directory names may be slightly off here) open file with wordpad or notepad and look for an entry something like name "player". Delete entire line and save. Note that you may not have an autoexec file, if so look only in the config file. Also make sure the file is not read only.
