Hello everyone, I'm Kyle (better known as Dr. Knockers), and I thought I'd give a little history as to why I'm here, and I apologize for the length of this post, but read on if you're interested!.
I joined eGO near the very beginning of its growth. I joined this clan when it was strictly a DoD:S clan, and there were only a couple hundred members! I joined the clan because I absolutely loved the servers that it hosted, which at the time were only 2 or 3.
What I found so great about this clan is the fact that in order to be promoted (this was back in the day, I'm not sure how admin is obtained by members currently) you had to prove yourself. I immediately began working to do that, because not only were the servers great, but the people in this clan were top notch folks. My promotions were gained through the massive tournament I'm about to explain.
Pretty quickly the clan created subdivisions to better handle its members, and so the different Houses were born. At the time, the ones I can remember were Kustom Kettle, the DAM Busters, Sewer Rats, but I cannot recall the others.
I myself was a proud member of the Kustom Kettle, or -=KK=- as we were known then, under the leader named Spetznaz.
Under these new subdivisions the clan created a clan-only Day of Defeat tournament in which each different House was matched against each other until there was one winning House. I remember each match being held on saturdays and I remember being sure to leave those days free so I could participate, because (I have to brag a little) I was quite a gifted sniper.
After many saturdays, the final two Houses that came together were mine, Kustom Kettle, and the DAM Busters.
After an INTENSE battle on a brilliant custom map, Kustom Kettle managed to come out on top, but barely. It was an extremely good time.
During all this, I managed to work my way up to the full rank of eGO in which I had full admin power over each server, and I worked constantly when I was playing to keep the servers clean.
Unfortunately, a new update had come out that put Day of Defeat out of reach for my pc of the time, and so ended my time as an eGO member.
I apologize for the length of this, but I want all new members of this clan to know that you joined a TOP NOTCH clan, if you didn't already know this. I absolutely loved this clan, and it really did teach me (I was around 15-16 at the time) some responsibility and how to maturely handle tense situations because when we were growing, eGO had a lot of people attacking the servers and creating massive headaches. But all of us admins banded together and managed to overcome every obstacle.
Edge Gamers Organization, I thought I'd come check on you and see how things are, and I'm extremely happy for you that you've managed to grow and keep the same class you have always been masters of.
I don't know if any original members from my time are still here, but if you are, try and remember Dr. Knockers! (I played Strand CONSTANTLY).
Again, congratulations, and if you are still the leader of the clan JohnT, I applaud you for keeping this clan together (I haven't checked to see if JohnT has continued to lead the clan or has stepped down). Oh and if any original members are here, I'll never forget the "Mustoreo" videos and competitions.
On another note, I would consider rejoining but I have successfully become a member of Air Force ROTC, and am working in to the pipeline to become an Air Liaison Officer and it consumes much of my free time.
Very Respectfully,
Kyle aka (former) =(eGO)= Dr. Knockers
*Edit* Hahahah I had no idea my old sig was still here! Must've been back when Kustom Kettle became their own clan and I joined the DAM Busters after the championship tournament! Wow, what a blast from the past!!
