CS:S Tweaks that improve Skill. FACT :)

Hey guys, today I will tell you a few tips/tweaks/tricks to help improve skill and become a better player.

Okay, first of all, you must have your console enabled to do this; without it, you are limited to the game's presets and you will not be able to tweak them to your desired preference. I'm sure most of you know how to turn it on, and if you don't... Use your head.

First thing you need to know is your connection speed. I will list some down along with settings to enter to help optimize your game according to your connection.
(these commands can be entered in or out of game, I enter them in-game because it allows for you to instantly see the difference between changes.)

Connection Speeds : Cmds (i'm assuming all of you have above or at least 512k connection speeds. If you don't have any of listings below, pm me for other connection speeds/cmds.) Note: None of these are cheats or exploits, I would make a backup config.cfg Just-in-case of any damages(99.9% sure it wont happen)

(some servers have a max/limit for these commands, since I have 1MB+ I set both to 100; if the servers max/limit is lower than 100 it will automatically set it to the max.)

mat_dxlevel 70 (DirectX 7)

These are some commands that take a load off the GPU and uses more of your CPU strength. Only use these commands if you are sure your CPU supports the listings below.

cl_updaterate 100
cl_smooth 0 - 1 (depending on your preference. 0 made my game much smoother for some odd reason? The irony in this lol)

^^^ Those commands are a MUST when gaming(imo)
They really do fix reg and it's completely exploit free! Most people do not know this, or if they do... whatevs. but seriously, I recommend you try these out, it saves frustration and you'll be glad with the results.

The commands below don't improve skill but are useful.

cl_downloadfilter nosounds - Doesn't allow servers to make you download custom sound(BS) like boom headshot, multikill, etc.. thank god for this.

cl_c4dynamiclight 1 - Makes the bomb light flash brighter and makes it easier to tell exactly where the bomb is planted.

Now, this is the final step to tweaking the game to improve your skill/gaming experience.

cl_crosshairsize .5 - ∞ (I set mine to .5 because... well.. just my preference.)

cl_crosshairthickness .5 - ∞ (I set mine to 5 because I like the shape/size.)

crosshair 0 - 1 (If you like to experiment with the way you play, I recommend this because this builds a better understanding of the guns and their accuracy; but is quite hard to master. Color is your preference.. I find Red to be the best, without transparency.)

k, it took a bit to get used to the very small crosshairs... but I'm loving them now!! Start at one, and within a few rounds, you'll be down to .5. But I had to ditch my blue ones for the red... otherwise was too hard to see.

Maybe before you start assuming my info doesnt help/work/is outdated/in accurate/contains no definitions boohoo... Try them for yourself.. These are tips... Tweaks... Tricks.. I am a person. Not a gaming dictionary.

These tips won't increase your "skill" because that is something gained from experience, it might improve your hit registry and make your game run smoother.
