The music was way to loud. Couldn't hear some of the sound effects. Other than that, looks awesome!

After watching it, it reminded me of the beginning to Aladdin.
Pretty much like LoL, graphics from the trailer look awesome,
but in-game is much, much more different.

Well, LoL was remodeled after DoTA. So you can't say it's like LoL. LoL is like DoTA 2.

DoTA Happened on WC3
Then Riot games got some of the people from the Original Dota Team (Morello, Guinsoo, Ezreal and a few more).
S2 then made HoN with none of the original DoTA team.
Now Valve is making DoTA 2 with some of the Original DotA team that DIDN'T go to riot.
Noone can say theyre coping eachother. They're all modled after the same game. Only difference is that Valve bought the rights to use the name DotA.

I never said DoTA 2 (The Game) looks like League of Legends (The Game).
I was saying how similar their trailers are in the fact that the graphics are
awesome and then in-game looks nothing like trailers.

To Brush everyone up on the history of the games
Eul (non-famous) Made a Wc3 map based on a SC scenario. Map was relatively well played. Then when Bilzzard released TFT Eul Didn't patch so people decided to make them themselves.
Thats where Guinsoo comes into play turning DoTA into DoTA AllStars (one of the most played game mods ever) He handed the now famous game off to Icefrog around version 6.
Guinsoo then eventually Riot games picked him up to help on League of Legends(funny fact the owner of dota-allstars.com eventually got addicted to LoL)
Icefrog took over and truly made the game as popular as it is today. And thus Valve doing their thing supporting small developers with good ideas (see source games) picked him up and are now developing DoTA 2...so that you nimcompoops is why they look so similar.
Expect Dota 2 to be more played then LoL and more complex to learn. More rage quiting all around!
More complex? Yes. More played? Unless Valve is going to make it F2P then I highly doubt it. Have you seen how many people play league of legends?

Yes I have and I know as long as it's not a disappointment it'll be more played then LoL. Probably not by people who browse this forum but have you seen how man people play Dota? All those people had to buy WC3...
Spite the fact the person developing DoTA also is developing DoTA 2 just with a better game engine?
LoL and HoN is a place holder for a lot of people till DoTA 2 comes out.
And with riot thinking dominion will be the most played map, they are gonna lose a lot of people. Will LoL die? Of course not. But it will be dominated by a lot of casuals who play after work for a game or two.

I'm having trouble seeing DotA2 put that much of a dent into League of Legends numbers, LoL is much more different than Heroes of Newerth to actually take much of a hit.
There doesn't have to be only one dominant moba game. While HoN being a copy of DotA and serving the same audience will probably suffer a lot, LoL caters to a different type and will easily be able to thrive at the same time as DotA2.

I have to agree with Carmine. If HoN was closer to what the original DoTA than LoL is, I see HoN suffering more then LoL(as HoN already is with having to switch to F2P to compete). I tried HoN and know several others who have and if DoTA 2 is closer to HoN than I wont be playing it for long(only a few I know have stayed with HoN). I much prefer LoL to HoN, and it seems lots of people feel the same way.
So I think there will be 2 dominate MOBA's: LoL and DoTA 2, but I think LoL will still have higher numbers of players as its much easier to pick up and play(comparing it to DoTA1 and HoN).
