Is it just me or do they seem to being flying somewhat slow?

They were going a bit slow, but the maps could never be large enough for any viable recreation of their actual relative speed, anyways. It'll be enough that they're noticeably faster and more maneuverable than the choppers, I'm sure.

That, plus it also depends on the type of jets they're using. I wasn't really paying much attention to the type of jet, just the speed XD
But it looks like maybe a combo of both.

Anyone without a decent dedicated soundcard will never get the full value of this game. Sounds amazing

Yeah I'm excited for BF3, after watching some of the trailers and videos I wish they would just make a full out animated movie from BF3. (The first few trailers made me feel like I was watching a movie.) It's going to beat down most other titles out there (especially generic COD titles) and I can't wait to see the game-play full out.
