Notch vs Bethesda

It looks like Notch wants to settle Bethesdas lawsuit over "Scrolls" by challenging them to a Game of 3vs3 Quake. I hope Bethesda agrees to it, it would show class on their part since it's a bum lawsuit anyway IMO.

Bethesda wont go for it. Personally I am cheering for Bethesda basically because I hate Notch and everything Minecraft.

They have no grounds on which to sue. If this were the case and does succeed, you can bet your ass someone will start in on nintendo with the "Super" thing and on top of that, any prefix/suffix type game title will have to go through some serious bullcrap just to become playable.

If anything, all this has done is help Notch and screw Bethseda, who can't even keep their own forums safe nowadays. It's a sad day, especially considering that Bethseda isn't the one actually doing the lawsuit, it's the publisher I think. Could be wrong on that, but I'm sure I saw that pointed out clearly somewhere...

Pretty sure it's Bethesda's Parent company, Zenimax, that's behind the suit. The developers more than likely have no hand in this as they have a separate business/legal wing for these things. But since they're all connected in name, they will crash and burn with the lawyers in this bogus lawsuit. :\

I just think it's boring personally. Played it for a while, built everything I wanted to and moved on. The whole community thing is "meh" at best right now in that game due to the limited amount of "features" it has regarding a community setting. This is all compacted by the fact that it's still pretty buggy. That all being though, I do hope it eventually gets out of it's beta stage and becomes something a little more to my tastes because it was fun for a bit.

As for the Bethseda parent company thing, yeah, I think you're right that they're the parent and everyone's gonna just burn with them. Oh well. :/

I believe that if Bethesda wins, the name of the game being developed by Notch called "Scrolls" would be changed. If Bethesda loses I don't think they'll have to change the "The Elder Scrolls" title.

I actually love Minecraft. I agree once you find all the things to build in Minecraft it gets boring. But when you dicover redstone......epicness ensues.
