Well I found this on the BF3blog.com and all I had in me was RAGE!!! :cursing::cursing::cursing::cursing::cursing:

My link will tell you the BREAKING NEWS http://bf3blog.com/2011/08/battlefield-3-pc-version-wont-have-in-game-server-browser/
2 phrases came to my mind as soon as I read it "FUBAR" and "SNAFU". Also I am starting to doubt BF3 for the first time.

At the same time I said "its ok" just because I'll be playing on EGO servers all the time and who needs a server browser.

P.S. Sorry Slaz about not putting this thread into your HUGE one but its BREAKING NEWS

actaully there is server brower on battlelog. since Battlelog is too new to social network and all of the stuff they want to at least try it out thieir new battlelog if it is campability on launch date

Meh, Doesn't really bother me the alpha was the same and I got used to it within 5 mins. No big deal. I use chrome and it doesn't use a lot of resources. It actually is pretty quick.

2002-2010 <== Over 5 Battlefield games on the PC, ALL with bad, slow, unresponsive browsers with long load times and twitchy filters.

2011 <== an ALPHA stage browser on a website was fast, clean and efficient. It loaded the game faster

Battlelog is a good thing.

Yes this sounded like there will be no server browser to select your dedicated servers. There is, it is just in the the battlelog interface in your browser thats all. It's not like MW2 with the stupid matchmaking and you couldn't select the server you wanted. The article headline was a bit misleading.

Meaning there is a server browser it is just not "in-game" What you do is when you click to launch BF# it opens a browser window (chrome, firefox. etc) and you look for your server in there with a lot more info and details on what is going on in the server like tickets left and the players time and all that. you just click to join the server and it loads the map in the background and you just launch right into game as soon as its loaded. It was actually very good and responsive even in it's alpha stage. Actually a step forward IMO.

i perfer battlelog and ingame server brower. it doesn't hurt me as much i use alot matchmaking in the past cause i am lazy to find a server

Considering that server switching is frequent among gamers, either because of rage quitting or trying to find a better game, or something third, this could cause some annoyance.

I plan on playing only on eGO servers, so it's unlikely that this will bother me, but I'm sure it'll give the "OMG! First Origin required, then no Steam release, and now this! OMFG1!1!!1one!!1! I'm not buying BF3 now and I'm going to go sit in a corner and hold my breath" crowd more fuel.

The most important thing

"I'll be playing on EGO servers all the time and who needs a server browser"

Since eGO will be my home 9/10 times, I'm sure I can get past it.

I'll definitely use the browser, as I'm sure we'll end up without a server mode I still like to play. But I don't see this as a problem. The server browser in the Alpha was great and loaded quick and easy.

The second time I try to search for servers in BC2, every server shows up with 999 ping. Every time.

Why couldn't they embed the Battlelog server brower into the game...would probably streamline things a bit more.

That kinda sucks that you have to keep closing and reopening, for most people that is.

As stated before though, most of us only play on eGO servers anyway =)

How useless, makes no sense to do that other than to draw traffic to their website, which if there is an issue with it no one can play multiplayer

Dude, Battlelog is AMAZING! It is so much better than server browsers! ... Actually, it is a damn server browser, you just use a web browser though.

Battlelog truly is a piece of art. You find servers just like you would in BC2 (But it is even easier). Each server has their own URL Link ... so say your friend on Steam or XFIRE wants to play in the same server as you, and you guys aren't Origin/Battlelog friends - Just copy the URL of the server, send it to him. Once he clicks the URL, it loads up the game and puts him right into the server.

Trust me, when I was testing Battlefield3, I was very skeptical about it. But once me and my friends started using it to get into the same servers, I was thinking, Damn! This thing rocks!

I couldn't have stated it better. Was anyone complaining about this during the alpha? I think not.

EA servers go down and keep us from logging in all the time as it is, in all honesty...

Guys, in all honesty...if you blow your tops over the smallest of things like this....you'll lose the ability to enjoy the game when it comes out. EA and DICE are big boys, they can make decisions for themselves. They won't do something to jeopardize their game...so if they make a decision to implement something...there is a good reason for it.

Relax.

When I first saw this, I was really terrified about it. However, now that I think about it, unless Dice is able to duplicate Valve's superb Server Browser in-game, this would be the next best option. As long as it doesn't slow down gameplay, I'll be fine with it.

Also, if we need fast load times, I'll probably install this game on my SSD just give me a little edge over other players loading in. ;)

Even though I didn't get to play the alpha.. From what I've been seeing about how this works it could be a definite advantage.. Just roll with the punches guys... none of these "changes" are any reason to not get the game of the year..lol

BTW.. think about how bc2 works for a sec.... you are having to wait for the server to load.. then exit the server.. then fidget with a buggy server browser.. ect.. this is supposed to resolve all that.

This isn't that big of a deal to be honest. The only problem would be favorites and ISP issues for certain people. Other than that, it's just an extra step that seems to fix some pointless crap but not that terrible by any means.

I just feel kind of "meh" about it. *shrug*
