Jail: 15 Seconds to type?

I know you have to give a T time to type, but is there an actual 15 second rule? Thats a long time to just type. I hear it everyday though and i was told my someone(i forget who) that there is no actual 15 second rule. Just allow them time to type.

No that isn't in the rule, but it's a general courtesy to allow people to type as long as it takes them. Obviously if they're just stalling and delaying then they are taking advantage of the rule. You can look at the rule here by yourself if you wish.

if they stop i generally give them around 10 seconds to type

less for those ive seen using typing as a means of delaying

Well I don't believe that there's a legitimate rule but you should give at least 15 seconds because if they aren't a quick typist, then you'll be killing them for being slow and that shouldn't happen. However if they are taking too long then they need to die because they are delaying.

Keep the fun of the game in mind.

There is no specific time, but you need to take some things into consideration. Are they just trying to be an ass and intentionally delay? If so, kill them. If they are legitimately typing, give them some time to do so. Use your best judgement, and think about it if you were a terrorist and typing, would you want to be killed instantly for stopping to type?

If they type just to say "OH MY GOD IM TYPING THIS MESSAGE LOLOL" more than once, id probably kill them, just because they are wasting time to do absolutely nothing but delay the round. But if you think they may actually be typing not useless, id leave em.

There may be no rule but as this is a mod made for the fun of being a guard or a prisoner in jail. Not a "see how many we can kill" thing I usally let them type unless they are smartypants about it or are delaying a lot.
Jail has become more and more about being strict and shot as many as you can. I don't like that. People need to give chances and keep the game fun for people in there.
So I suggest this:

If they type that is ok aslong it is not delaying horrible amount of time
If they type 1 word and move a bit and 1 more word and continue this. It will be delaying, but tell them to move before you shoot.
If they type a question or something similar. Allow people to answer and then them to reply before you shoot.

And last but not least. CTs need to stop being so damn trigger happy and start being more lenient so that we can get the fun back into jail

/sarcasm doesn't work here. Keep the fun in mind for everyone in the server, not just yourself. Think about those times when you're a T and you get killed within the first minute of a round. You then have to spend the other 8 minutes in spectate.

yeah i mean if someone is taking more than 15 seconds and all they are saying is "hi" or "don't shoot me i can type" im going to shoot them. they shouldn't be typing random crap to try to "rebel" against the orders.

I give them all the time they need no matter what they are typing. Its when they sit there for 15+ seconds and haven't moved or said anything that I'll shoot them.
