that was 1 of the saddest days in US history

if theres any1 here that is or has done service in Iraq,a special thanks goes out to you

i wish i was in New York right now,the 1st place id go to is the 9/11 memorial

id pay my respects to people that were involved

now that i think of it,if i wouldve been there,i wouldve ran towards the towers not away from them,id rather risk my own life to save another then be a coward and save my own skin while lives are quickly fading away

also where were you and what were you doing when all this happened,what did you do after hearing the horrible

my mom came and got me out of school then we went to a relatives house then im pretty sure we took a trip up to Tennessee or Missouri i cant remeber wich 1
 
A sad day indeed...

I was about 7 at this time. Hard to imagine something so devastating could have happened..
 
What does Iraq have to do with 9/11? :p

Iraq = Sadam Hussein (dictator)

But yes, this is very sad. R.I.P to all that passed on that day.

I was safe in Denmark.. Only about 5 years old...
 
I was a freshman in college setting in a history class.....History was made that day for sure :(
 
Don't forget Afghanistan and any other service memeber, there was more than Iraq for combat.



Also, its in 10 days, why do people (not just you, yahoo has been doing stuff since the start of August) keep bringing it up? It happened on 9/11, not the entire month leading up to that date. Keep that day special and don't drag it out.

We got Bin Laden, justice has been served at a great cost, and for people of religion, pray for the dead.







Also, this kind of thread is probably not the kind of thing to post for edge gamers, regardless of forum category. Its a thread that will lead to politics and has nothing to do with gaming. Gaming is the escape from worrying or thinking about many things, such as this, and that sanctuary is the purpose of these forums.

I was 3 years old. How was I going to remember anything? But yes. R.I.P for all the people who have died from those dirty people.
 
I was on the way to school (I was a sophomore) when news of the first tower being hit broke on the radio, I figured, like most with the first reports of it being a small aircraft, "Must have been a private pilot with mechanical failure, or something".

Once reports started coming in that it was an airliner, my thought shift to "Oh, those poor people, but still no thought of terrorism." However, once the second plane struck, and I saw it on tv, I knew something big was up. I can still remember the exact words today; "Oh my God, it's Pearl Harbor all over again."

I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, so I was exceptionally worried about a plane hitting here. We have Lockheed, Bell, General Dynamics, 2 airbases, and other assorted military installations. I went to my history teacher and advised him, "We need a tv on, now." We spent remainder of the school day nervously watching the news. My school bus driver asked me later in the afternoon, as I was the last to be dropped off, "Do I need to get money out of the ATM?" I answered her, "If you can, do it, and stock up on supplies."


I will never forget that day. God bless our troops, and may those who perished on that day Rest in Eternal Peace.
 
I really see this getting side tracked but... Yeah this was a really sad day, I was pretty young though haha

With all due respect for those involved in the subject matter I have to agree, our forums are probably not the proper venue for this.

Was it a tragedy? Absolutely. However what really gets me is that there are other tragedies happening every day around the world that never get a hint of coverage by the media.

I won't get into it, but let's remember to do our part in our servers to make eGO a positive experience for all who visit our servers. With all the messed up stuff in the world, I have no doubt some need it!
 
I hate to ruin the commemoration, but it's not even 9/11 yet and also, this really shouldn't be discussed in the forums. It's a political happening from basically 10 years ago.
If we weren't allowed to discuss the finding of Osama Bin Laden, then we shouldn't be able to discuss this.

I agree. I'm not going to say much about this subject, but I do agree.
