So, I've been going through the enlistment process into the Army National Guard. I'm going in as a 19D Cav Scout.

Anyway.

Yesterday I went up to my local MEPS to take my ASVAB, then stay over at a hotel then the next morning take my Physical Exam, and then swear in. Easy enough, right?

I scored decently on my ASVAB (67).

But on the Medical Exam I was disqualified and need a waiver. Why? Because I have something every teenager has: acne. What's up with that? I have to wait two weeks just to submit a form stating that they're not liable if I break out...

Anyone else encounter similar things before? This seems odd to me. The military personnel in the offices were furious that the doctor ruled that. And let a guy covered in rashes go through. Besides, I don't even have acne THAT badly...

Thoughts?

The military is ALL about politics - you'll see more things like this when your in. Most of it won't involve you but you'll see it. The best thing to do is just to go with it and do the paperwork, it will save you in the long run.
