So over the last few weeks, the top half of my screen went darker than the bottom half. Its an old CCFL LCD monitor. Anyone familiar now knows what I am about to say. Last night, I had bad screen flickers until it finally died. Nothing works with it. Obviously I need a new monitor.

I am not a monitor guy at all.

Right now I am looking at this monitor.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? Newegg links only. I like to save money.

Also. No fanboi crap here. I dont care what preferences are. I just want to replace my monitor with something good and cheap.

I just literally bought that monitor two days ago, its a really good monitor picture is freaking amazing. Oh and set up is simple as heck too, easiest monitor I have ever had to put on its stand.

That's definitely a good monitor. The only thing to bear in mind is how big, how much, how fast (how fast the pixels refresh, 2-5ms is what you want), and you're done. The sub-$200 category has a lot of good monitors you can choose from that'll meet your needs, but the one you selected is perfectly fine. Just remember, you want to have a GPU with an HDMI out to connect to it. Otherwise, make sure the monitor has a DVI connection for your GPU. That's the only catch with monitors- whether it's HDMI or DVI and if your video card has an HDMI out or DVI-only.

P.S. If the video card is DVI and monitor is HDMI, you can buy a HDMI-to-DVI cable on newegg too.

This is definitely a good monitor, however many buyers claim that it is cheaply made, and has dead pixels.

I have that Monitor. It's epic man, I love it the screen is so big and the picture is so crisp!

most to all monitors will have dead pixels, The max allowable is determined by the company's Quality assurance teams.

most standardize around 1-5 dead pixels

I just bought this:

For $84.99 on eBay :)

I have basically that same monitor. Same panel just a different stand. It works great. I would recommend it.
