Favorite Run n' Gun game: CoD4
Reason: CoD2 is what originally got me into PC gaming but CoD4 just blew my mind and still does. You go into a ProMod server and get your butt kicked up n down saying "hacker, hacker" until you actual become good and start pulling things out of your butt like the "hacker, hacker" CoD4 is exactly the type of FPS games should be based around. great graphics, slow but fast gameplay, not complete rng *cough* counter strike *cough*

Favorite Tactical game: Operation Flashpoint: Red River
Reason: This game should be an idol to all other tactical games. If you get shot you bleed, no mods needed and not only that but depending on where you're shot affects your aim and/ or walking ability and there is actual bullet drop instead of having an uzi that has no range limitations. The only downfall to the OF series is the lack of dedicated servers, if Codemaster's decided to get their act together and make dedicated servers the OF series would have taken most of the CoD fan base GUARANTEED.

Favorite fun game when I'm bored: MoH (the new one)
Reason: I like the very fast gameplay and the gamemodes this game has to offer. It also has some great weapon customization you can choose from and none of the extra crap like perks. If you want a game to play just b/c you're bored and tired of the same ol' same ol' check this game out :)

I can't really say I have one true "favorite game" as there are a bunch of them out there that I just find exceptional

Current Favorite game: Probably "Age of Empires online"
Reason: Very fun, laid back rts. Free to play with optional things such as "premium civilizations" (paid for one premium civ, don't think I will spend anymore then that) that give you the ability to use new items/item ranks and add quests. I've spent at least around 20-25 hours so far and I still have quests to do. Plus I'm only level 21 out of 40.

All time Favorite game: Hmm... Difficult one to answer... I'm going to have to say the Halo series. (all the halo games)
Reason: I have enjoyed every second I spent on the Halo campaigns since I played the game for the first time. I am not a big fan of online fps games (mostly because of campers) but even Halo made this quite enjoyable for me. Let me put it this way, I'm such a halo fanboy that I own all of the games currently release (besides Halo wars, rented and returned), paid for the legendary edition of Reach, Watched all episodes of Halo Legends, and own/read 5 of the released Halo books lol. The story line is just wonderful and certainly the most appealing of all fps campaigns I have played (I beat MW2 campaign in like 4 hours...).

I might aswell through a few other games out there that I consider my "Favorites" :p

Favorite flight game : Ace Combat Series

Favorite online FPS: Team Fortress 2

Favorite mmo: EVE, possibly ToR when I get to try it

Favorite rpg: Mass Effect series

Favorite action game: Zeno Clash

Favorite Indie game: Minecraft

Favorite f2p game: Tied between AoE Online and World of Tanks currently

Yeah this changes on a whim for me.

Let's do it this way:

Current favorite PC Game: World of Tanks. I love all things WWII and this is just a hoot to play.

Current favorite Wii Game: Monster Hunter Tri. Action/RPG style game from Japan. It hasn't caught on in America like I wish it would. Amazing game. My sister is borrowing my Wii so I haven't touched the game in months. When I visit my family and have time I will bust out a quest or two.

Current favorite X-Box Game: Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. I still bust it out and play online, for multi player it is the best experience of any game I've played in my opinion, it is also the most rage inducing lol. Haven't touched in a month and before that I hadn't played it in 4-5 months. When I played it last within two matches I was top scoring again, can't believe how little people have learned about how to play it after all this time.

Current Favorites for:

RTS: Company of Heroes. Just got it a few months ago, tactically challenging.
Flight game: HAWX 2. Yeah I'm late to the party, but playing this game while rocking out to the Top Gun soundtrack is incredible. Haven't played in months though.
FPS: Day of Defeat. The classic doesn't get beat.
Indie Game: Frozen Synapse. Simply put possibly the best Turn-Based Strategy game ever designed. More power to these guys. What an amazing game.

Honorable Mention: League of Legends. Haven't touched it in months but man what a great little game.

I really don't play as much as this answer makes it sound lol (I went back and clarified how often I've played them). Really right now all I'm playing is World of Tanks, at least 1-2 battles a day if not more, and I'm starting to dabble in Age of Empires Online, just started today. (AOE II is one of my favorite games if not my all time favorite game).

Just don't have the time to play like I used to. Don't get old lol.

Favorite game: Alien Vs. Predator classic (2000)
Reason: Do I really need to give one? Life-cycle MP game mode.

Favorite game: Starcraft BroodWar
Reason: I don't have money to buy StarCraft II

Game: Mind Games.

Reason: Because I always win.

Favorite FPS: Deus Ex (2000)
Favorite RTS: Starcraft: BroodWar
Favorite RPG: Tie - Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel & Neverwinter Nights + Expansions
Favorite MMO: Everquest (Before the year 2001)

Reasoning:

FPS - If you played it, then this would be your favorite as well.
RTS - If you played it, then you know why.
RPG - (Fallout) Because it was fast paced, lots of skill involved, and was difficult. (Neverwinter Nights) Because the replay value was infinite, and the Online Community was Overwhelmingly phenomenal.
MMO - When Everquest came out, the game was so scary to me as a child. The only MMO other than Ultima Online, where when you walk off the trail, you are actually scared for your life. The graphics were so bad, that you literally used your imagination. (ahh good ol' days)

p.s. I feel old now. :/ none of my games are past 2000.

Favorite game: The Legend of Zelda series, first game i played on Nintendo 64. Oldskool fun, kept me busy for many many hours! :D

Genres, once again. I refuse to have a single favorite game at any time, because genres of videogames are too different from one another.

Favorite Singleplayer Shooter: Probably the Half-Life series.
Reason: I don't play many singleplayer shooter games. The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Halo (series), Half-Life (series), and Gears of War 1. Out of those, I really spent the most time on the Half-Life series.

Favorite Multiplayer Shooter: Team Fortress 2
Reason: Nice balance, determined to find all the items so high replayability, and it's just fun.

Favorite Action-Adventure: Monster Hunter Portable 3rd
Reason: It's so fun. That's it. I just love it. It's like Monster Hunter 3/Tri, but more.

Favorite Sidescroller: Castlevania (The Metroidvania ones), especially Harmony of Despair
Reason: I spend so much time looking for absolutely everything in those games. I managed to 200.6% SotN with only a map of the inverted castle (in reality, I could have taken a picture of my fully complete regular castle map and turned it upside down, but I didn't feel like it) and it was fun the entire time. HD gets special mention because it's multiplayer.

Favorite Flight Game: HAWX 2
Reason: Because I like flight games and this is one of the ones I have, and I like it more than the others I have (HAWX 1, Ace Combat 6, and the portable Ace Combats).

Favorite Action-RPG: Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Reason: I didn't differentiate between the two different kinds of RPGs before because none of them really stood out to me, but that was before playing either Deus Ex (By "either" I mean the original and Human Revolution. I haven't heard too good things about Invisible War). Now that I've played both and enjoyed them more than just about all the others, I chose this one because it's faster paced and the stealth is more than just run around crouched and smack everyone on the back of the head with a police baton.

Favorite Regular RPG: The World Ends With You
Reason: I would have said FF6 or FF7, but then I realized that WEWY is one of the awesomest games ever.

Favorite Stealth Game: The entire Metal Gear Solid series (specifically 3)
Reason: It's totally awesome, that's why. Plot's interesting, gameplay is very enjoyable, game can get extremely hard on harder difficulties, and there are a lot of them. This may kind of be circumventing the genre system, but stealth is one of my favorite genres ever.

Favorite Puzzle game: Portal 2
Reason: Because it's like Portal 1 but more. And everyone knows how fun Portal 1 is.

Favorite FPS: CS:S.
Favorite RPG: Oblivion. (Soon to be Skyrim.)
Favorite Indie: Minecraft.
Favorite MMO: World of Warcraft.

Reasons:
FPS: I've been playing CS & CS:S since I was around 10 and have loved them since.
RPG: Amazing game, not short, fun to play, lots of choices.
Indie: Fun game. Time consuming.
MMO: I've been playing WoW for a few years. I've always enjoyed it. You can take it at your own pace.
