I think the coolest thing I have seen so far from the features of BF3 is this...

"Suppressive fire is an in-game mechanic which blurs the vision of those under fire from an LMG, and also reduces their accuracy"

Suppressing fire is something I have always wanted to see implemented into a game and now covering fire will actually have a point in this game. This is really awesome!!

Not all that useful really. Sure it blurs their screen, but they can still shoot very accurately

Yea, the supressing fire does work and works well. I always ducked for cover when i was being supressed because I knew that if I didnt, a quick death awaited me.

Doesn't this pretty much make all LMGs in BF3 equivalent to the Natasha pre-nerf?

No they can't because the game engine reduces their accuracy, plus vision is blurred which makes it very difficult to aim let alone kill someone.

Color corrected Boo-Yeah's post

Are there any videos up of what it does? I haven't seen anything about it personally, only heard stuff.

I played the alpha, was suppressed many times, still got kills. Didn't seem effective to me, even when I was shot at by 3 or 4 lmgs at once :P

Suppressing people was fun. Made prone with an LMG lots of fun.

I suppose suppression as a game mechanic rather than a gameplay idea does help with people who run up and shoot the guys shooting at them anyway.

An interesting idea for certain.

Slightly off topic, but within the same realm, has anyone heard about how Origin is going to be implemented ? All I read has suggested it will scan your entire hard drive, but that EA was working to alleviate/do away with it entirely.

Start game through Origin, never touch it again :)
