Sneak Peak as in one of the extra sneaked in a video cam and got a chase scene...

What do you guys think?

For me after reading the book. This scene was kind of disappointing... Looks like they are doing more of a days/weeks later style of movie instead of keeping to the book.
 
son i am disappoint

world war z had the potential to become a great movie

like you said, this looks more like 28 days/weeks later

the zombies discribed in the book are a slow shuffling hoard, not a pack of fast moving super zed

hopefully they dont leave out the story of the japanese kid and blind old man, that was my favorite part of the book
 
Well that's disapointing. Originally the project was designed to be a somber oscar caliber epic. Of course then again one scene does not make a movie and that goes doubly so for a video that doesn't look like the master shot. So I still have high hopes for the project.
 
One word: Disappointed. If anything, this scene confirms some of the rumors and reports I've been hearing about this movie. The director isn't bothering to stay true to the book. Here's the official synopsis from Paramount:

"The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself."

So Problem 1: Takes place before/during the outbreak whereas the book takes place afterwards.
Problem 2: The only "fast zombie" were quislings in the book. What kind of zombie is being used for this movie? Oh, the director's lame imagination.
Problem 3: Paramount is just exploiting the title of a popular zombie book for cheap advertising, and is just using a bait and switch. Trading on Brooks' successful book for a cheap pathetic farce that doesn't even distinguish itself against many of the other zombie movies already made. I will definitely be passing on this one.
 
Well most of the people running away looked normal, and if what Snipeye said is correct, then that ruins 2 of my favorite parts of the book, the battle of Yonkers (unless that becomes some battle scene during the present and not past) and the fight in the desert that they played Iron Maiden to pump up the troops.
 
Im excited to see this even if its a typical big holly wood movie, just because I loved the book!~

Ok, this is for all you people who are knocking a project where almost nothing is known.

1. You can't do a straight adaptation of the book World War Z. I'm sorry, but you just can't. If you don't believe me, then try to imagine cramming the entire book into a two hour movie. Just try to make that work.

2. In its' current state, this movie will be nothing like any zombie movie we've see before. The film centers around a "UN employee who scours the world in a race against time to stop a worldwide zombie epidemic." This is completely different from your standard Zombie film protagonist and allows for a global prospective of the Zombie outbreak.

3. Max Brooks is completely supporting the project and the directions that it's taking. He found that the U.N. angle the best way to adapt the novel and he seems to be overall optimistic about the whole thing.
 
That is why I thought World War Z would of done better with a mini series style then a full blown movie.

But I still have hopes for the movie and that it will have drama and not. OMG ZOMBIES RUNNING AT MACH5!!! SHAKEY CAMERA TIME!

Just playing devil's advocate here...link to this information about brooks totally 100% behind this direction?
