Ok so yesterday I wrecked my 2008 SV650S A car pulled out in front of me and kept going I had to lay the bike down to prevent from hitting her I seen it coming she ran the stop sign an was in a hurry like she was going to a fire. Well I ended up laying the bike down and sliding across the road an in to a ditch bank an knocked out for a few seconds not remembering a thing. I few people stopped but the lady that pulled out in front of me was long gone.

So after going home all mad about it I called the police and a S.C state trooper came over an looked at the bike an said to fill out a collision forum on the scdmvonline, So I did that an called the insurance company filed a claim. Now the damage to the bike is the right side sitting on it, Foot peg broke off mirror all gashed up headlight fairing grinned bad, Lower fairing broken and tore from the mounting bar, foot brake pedal bent an twisted, front brake handle twisted, rear fairing cowl gashed and cracked, muffler smashed and scuffed bad, handle bar end bent and broke. Now I took it to the place i bought the bike in Savannah G.A for them to get the estimate on it for the insurance what do you guys think will they total it? :crying:

I drove it home it didn't feel ant different or any thing still cornered an did a wheelie lol sad thing is when i got the bike it was in awesome condition garage kept an not a scratch on it any where, now it is......:facewall:

If it helps its financed its a 2008 Suzuki SV650S-FK7 Candy Grand Blue, 6352 miles

My friend had that happen to him too. Good thing you did not get hurt tho. My friend got pretty road rash because he was wearing sandals and shorts with a white beater on.

before i was even born my dad had something like this happen to him on his triumph

only thing is that she pulled out and it was too late too even lay it down...

If there is no frame damage, shouldn't be totaled.

To be honest with you, everything that was damaged is all easy to replace/fix yourself. If you need to make an insurance claim - don't. In all honesty, the bike shouldn't be at a shop, you should be doing the work yourself... It will save you A LOT of money, trust me!

Parts you need; the rear brake, foot peg, front brake lever .. you can get them cheap online; browse SV forums and buy used out of pocket.

Don't worry about replacing the fairings right away. You'll end up finding a set used someday, and then pick them up. New fairings can be expensive, and it sucks if you lay it down again. Won't look as pretty, but are you riding to impress people, or enjoy the open road?

Handle bar end? So, your bar end broke? Those are pretty much just handle bar sliders, so you can easily replace that too. May wanna look at getting a pair of frame sliders next time. I'd bet at least half the stuff scuffed or broke wouldn't be if it was just a lay down.

Best of luck.

That damage is minimal. To be honest, falling can happen at any given time on a motorcycle.

Heck, I was at Adirondack Nationals (Thousands of old school muscle cars in Lake George) this past weekend, and I watch a girl loose her balance on a slight incline on her motorcycle, and the bike fell over on top of her.

Being a fellow rider, I was the only one out of the hundred people standing around to go running to her aide to get the bike off of her, which was crushing her foot. Bike got a bit scuffed up, but no biggie.

Fact is, save your pennies, especially from insurance. I wouldn't have a shop fix that.. Ride it like you stole it ;) And if you need to impress the ladies, just tell them you were stunting. lol

Really, all you need by the looks of it is a new rearset and bar end. It doesn't even look like the brake lever is damaged, just scuffed.

Thats minor damage dude, save yourself some money on premiums and fix it yourself.

Lucky you didn't smack it into head on traffic. Now that would of really done some real tough damage. As far as the pics go, it doesn't seem to bad.

Ya know it doesn't look all that bad. you could file the big scrapes back into shape and repaint them. I'm sure you could replace the broken stuff.
