I bought the game when it came out and played it for a month or two at the most. I had gotten into the closed beta and then the open beta for pre-ordering so when I had to do a lot of the same missions all over again the game lost me.

I had thought about getting another time card for this game, then I saw it was going free to play. I like not spending money over spending money, but I feel bad for the people who paid for the life time subscription. They just got screwed.

I feel bad for you who stopped playing so soon after release. They've added a lot more content and the Feature Episodes that they release are some of the most addictive missions that you'll want to repeat for fun! Ground combat has been completely changed from the initial launch of the game; and character models, especially for the Klingon faction, have been greatly updated. Everybody should at least try the game, when its free it wont cost you a dime and if you don't like it simply remove it from your computer and go back to playing something else.

I played it at launch. The space combat was kind of fun, if repetitive. Really an emphasis on positioning and weapons selection. If you enjoy rudimentary naval or flight combat sims, you may enjoy it.

Ground was a mess :(

The controls are not the most responsive I've seen. One of the strengths of any successful game is that the game is quick to respond to the inputs of the player. I've played games which have had MORE sluggish controls than STO, but not for very long.

Also the missions were not very varied (lulz) when I played. Basically go shoot stuff. Then go shoot more stuff.

Can't edit for some reason.

Looking at Ravage's post gives me some hope that the game has improved. I may look into it, since I still have my box copy.

I've decided to post two videos of some of the current content you can find in Star Trek Online, feel free to watch them or don't watch them its entirely up to you. The first one is a short clip of the new Borg Fleet Intercepts, a random event varying in intensity and difficulty where you race against the clock eliminate the invading Borg. The last is a tutorial of the new ground combat system. I hope this will encourages some of you to try it out, and I also hope it brings back those of you who have stopped playing.
