Quite honestly that is the best way to learn any Arabic. The orthography and grammar are really hard to learn from an English background.

Yeah, I was trying to get into the DoD school for Arabic, but just never had the time. Because of certain things, I was around the translator a lot, but wanted to be marginally okay if he either wasn't around, or otherwise unable to speak. Since I'm out of the environment now, I'm trying to supplement with Arabic - Rosetta Stone.
