Dark Screen

For those who play the KK server, you may have heard me complain about my dark screen for quite some time
Let me just say that i've maxed out the brightness using the buttons on my monitor AND in the Options>Video settings>Adjust Brightness levels in the game dod_s.
I'll replace my monitor soon if I must, but is there any other way to brighten my monitor further? Thanks!
BTW, it's so dark that when I play in the dod_dropzone map for example - I can't see anything on the ground and often can't even see the barbed wire that eventually kills me so I have to use the flashlight that gives me away to snipers.

your monitor might be dying..
is your monitor by a window that you might have a glare making your monitor seem darker

it's right beside a window - but the sunlight goes away from me.
As for my monitor - it's pretty new. maybe a year actually. If I must - I will buy a new one.
