Wierd lag on DoD:S

To describe it:

Even with my internet connection behaving properly, at random intervals my ping will spike to around 400-800 (even with a cmd prompt showing otherwise).

The lag goes away after a few minutes.

But here is the strange part:

If I tab to desktop and tab back in, it fixes itself.


Any help?

Do you have a firewall running?
If so, is DOD:S allowed through your firewall?

Yes I have a firewall but it probably shouldn't be the issue.

The spikes get less frequent after a while of playing as well...


Edit: I am a CCNA if that helps lol.
