Switch from Ventrillo to Mumble

I'm not sure if this has been discussed in the past, but I though maybe I would bring it up again

Ventrillo really isn't good. I'm sorry to all the Vent lovers out there, but.........it's just not. I also know that people whine like children whenever you suggest making a change to something they are familiar with, but that doesn't mean that is the right choice.

Mumble is pretty much better than Vent in every respect, especially in security, sound, and admin controls. There are tons of comparisons out there with info. If you can't find that info, let me help you!

Again, I know it would sorta be a big deal doing the switch for some people, but for those people setting up vent was probably difficult too!

I would like to hear others people's input.

Thing is before you post an idea like this you need to contact leadership and talk to them about it.

You can do so by posting in the drop box, which is here.

Ask them about it and if they are open to it then you would want to come out here and see if more member of the community are interested in it, assuming leadership says it's ok to look into it.

Not doing that is a sure-fire way to get your idea shot down, regardless of how good it may or may not be.

Well I believe MaxFrag pays for our ventrilo or helps to pay for it? Something like that I believe.

We have a sponsorship from Maxfrag, who graciously provide us with a very large Ventrilo server. It works well for all purposes we use it for and as such, there really is no need to change.

In the future, discussions about changes and suggestions are best placed in the dropbox.
