What?s most interesting though, is Kusa made a statement about the Battlefield 3 Open Beta.

FINALLY!! I can't wait for this!!! Now I have a really good feeling that the date is going to be released tomorrow along with the new trailer.

I will say this again MS and Sony would rather have a complete beta than a broken beta which would require DICE to fix more stuff which would push back the beta more. Plus MS and Sony most likely have the beta in their hands.
 
well when it comes out I will be happy hopefully it will have 64 player Conquest, they really need to test their servers.
 
So considering it is getting held back further and further to launch time, im guessing this is not a for real beta, but rather a demo disguised as a beta to get everyone to want to play the game. (Im not a big fan of the switch to calling early release demos, betas)

Im still super excited though.

We still have a month and a half until release. If they were to release the beta on the 25th of september that gives them one month to do beta (So probably 2.5 weeks or so) and fixes between beta and release. I wouldn't start calling it a demo quite yet. Us players tend to find anyway we can to break the game when we can.

Nah, the folks at MS and Sony are just too busy playing Super Mario Cart World 3000 to bother getting the BF3 beta approved on their consoles.

Thats definitely true, I just remember with the Starcraft 2 beta, they kept saying how they needed something like 3-6 months to go from actual beta to release. And Im guessing its no different here. So yea, sure its probably still in "beta" form as there will probably still be a few bugs, but Im guessing its more of a demo and just another way to stress test servers instead of a real beta.

And again, I am not complaining in the slightest, I just want to play... now. My alpha fix has long since worn off and im ready for beta.
 
Just read on Twitter today that the rumor is that the beta has been approved by MS. If that's true, it's just waiting on Sony.

Blizzard and DICE are entirely different beasts in regards to beta. Dice is focusing on killing bugs and such, with some hits here and there on balance/exploits. Blizzard's SC2 beta was for balancing purposes whereas the in-house beta and pre-beta versions squashed the majority of bugs present in that game.

Either way, it'll be nice when it's out. :)

And there is nothing wrong with Super Mario Cart World 3000.
